## Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts

They implement projects directly on the ground and provide local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

 

**Job Purpose:**

 

The Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization’s financial records and processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position is responsible for tasks such as:

 

* Maintaining books of accounts and relevant records/registers

* Managing the petty cash book and ledgers

* Processing expense claims, bills, and account vouchers

* Supporting the broader finance and accounting team with various tasks. 

 

**Job Location:** 

Gurugram, Haryana, India (Work from office)

 

**Type of Employment:** Contractual till March 25, 2025, with the possibility of renewal based on project requirements.

 

**Reporting to:** Manager – Finance & Accounts

 

**Working Days:** 5 days work week (Monday – Friday)

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Develop monthly budget projections and track utilization.

* Prepare utilization reports and invoices for donor support.

* Maintain bills, vouchers, invoices, and other related financial documents.

* Support budget preparation, summarizing and presenting financial information to management.

* Manage contingency funds for projects and ensure timely delivery of bills.

* Maintain stock records for medicines, equipment, TMM, worksheets, and stationery, highlighting any deficits.

* Coordinate procurement lists for medicines and equipment with relevant stakeholders.

* Manage books of accounts using Tally ERP.

* Review invoices for vendors and consultants and process payments.

* Ensure timely deduction, deposition, and filing of TDS returns.

* Handle payroll processing.

* Manage audit compliance.

* Coordinate with banks and reconcile bank statements.

* Ensure adherence to all financial regulations.

* Manage petty cash.

* Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Senior Management.

* Check travel and tour expenses and contractor bills, recording them in relevant software for timely crediting of amounts into employee accounts.

* Create reports and documents for donors, government agencies, partners, and other stakeholders.

* Manage vendor relations, including work orders, payments, and maintaining bills.

 

**Essential Qualifications:**

 

* Post Graduation or Bachelor’s degree in commerce or a related field.

 

**Experience:**

 

* Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in the development sector.

* Experience in institutional accounting is a significant asset.

* Candidates with accounting experience in the development sector will be prioritized.

 

**Technical Skills:**

 

* Proficiency in Tally software is essential.

* Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
