About the 10to19: Dasra Adolescents Collaborative 
 
10to19: Dasra Adolescents Collaborative is a high-impact, outcome-driven, multi-stakeholder platform that seeks to move the needle on the field of adolescent health and well-being in India. The Collaborative works to address the scale and breadth of issues facing adolescents by bringing together civil society organizations, experts, funders, and the government to ensure that adolescents are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered to make positive life choices as they transition into adulthood. 

About the Role: Associates at Dasra are responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the design and execution of various project on a variety of issues. With over 3-5 years of experience and strong management skills, the communications associate is responsible for spearheading strategic and business communication for various stakeholders. They will also drive impactful decision-making and nurture talent within the organization.  

Duration: Full time Role

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in defining key metrics across Dasra-wide stakeholders and external stakeholders. 
  • Drive excellence in delivery 
  • Under immediate supervision, performs standard tasks using established methods, principles, concepts and procedures related to the communications field. 
  • Works on parts of a project/ assignment – could be for a single project or multiple projects. 
  • Contributions will usually involve detailed analysis/ presentation of data/information/research as well as proposing and implementing improvements to current working methods.
  • Work with team members and partners within 10to19, Dasra, and externally, to advance 10to19’s goals, organize activities and strategic engagements
  • Document and identify projects, stories and messages that are engaging, motivating and high quality, and which communicate impact and showcase the work  
  • Ensure that all communication materials synergize with the 10to19: Dasra Adolescent Collaborative’ s communications strategies and branding. 
  • Ensure all communication material is targeted at agreed audiences, and delivers key messages effectively 
  • Create and support with social and digital communication and strategy 
  • Provide campaign support with respect to specialized campaign areas, with relevant issues within the adolescent space in India and globally 
  • Work with teammates to implement and execute effective communication plans and strategies to draw attention to 10to19: Dasra Adolescent Collaborative’ s goals
  • In a supervisory role, the individual usually handles work assignments, responsible for quality, motivation, training and problem solving.  

Expected knowledge and skills: 

  • Graduate & Postgraduates with Minimum 3 years of work experience;
  • Written & Communication skills: Brings strong structure and organization to written and verbal content and effectively leverages existing material from various sources 
  • Project Management: Consistently meets deadlines, effectively manages own time across several complex projects and identifies/resolves conflicts or roadblocks independently. Strong project management skills, including the ability to define project scopes, plan with some support and guidance, manage the project team and ensure work efficiency and quality while managing program plans, budgets, and adhering to deadlines
  • Relationship Management: Engages external and internal stakeholders with trust and confidence and is able to manage relationships towards several goals/ projects/ deliverables
  • Marketing Skills: Familiarity with on-ground activation for brands (either from Advertising Agency or Brand Management background) 
  • Familiarity with rural/last mile marketing and advertising   
  • Social Media and Strategy Skills: Strong mainstream and social media and digital channel management abilities
  • Research and Writing Skills: Strong strategic, research and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill
  • Monitoring Skills: Able to maintain and track measurement framework for social, digital and traditional media campaigns 
  • Collaborative Mind-set: Ability to build relationships with and work with a diverse range of partners (including NGOs, Funders and young people involved in 10to19’s programs) 
  • Willing to travel, especially to monitor and build relationships and execution (dependent on COVID-19)  
  • Practices attentive and active listening and can accurately restate the opinions of others even when they disagree. 
  • Passion for the development sector and the communities we serve is a must.
  • Sector Understanding: Knowledge should extend beyond the organizations they work with, with a good grounding of the broader sector
