Objectives of the Assignment

Under direct supervision of PATH India’s Senior Communication Coordinator and as part of a cross cutting Communication team, the Communication Associate-Design will be responsible to produce end-to-end graphic design solutions across digital, print and promotional collateral. The ideal candidate will continuously strive to improve PATH’s graphic design outputs in India/South Asia and leverage their design knowledge, skills, and capabilities in visual communication to bring PATH’s key messages to life.

Scope of Work

Help create engaging graphic design assets for PATH’s various stakeholders, audiences, and channels, both online and offline, to achieve key communication objectives by focusing on (but not limited to) achievement of the following results:

Responsibilities:

  • Create design assets for print, events, websites, email and social media.
  • Produce consistent branded experiences across multi-channel communications.
  • Produce compelling design assets with a purpose, which educate, inspire and encourage action.
  • Ensure that PATH’s brand guidelines are maintained across all branded collateral.
  • Provide expert design advice and creative input into communication and project/program deliverables that can inspire action through the innovative use of design. 
  • Design and edit materials and layouts including but not limited to factsheets, reports, and posters for publication.
  • Design logos as needed and other branded collateral including diaries and calendars.
  • Modify design style as required for different audiences (urban and rural) and channels.
  • Manage a network of third party design and print agencies when needed.
  • Produce excellent, on brand and customised illustrations and animations for various digital channels.
  • Any other work as assigned and needed. 

Required Experience 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience of working with international NGOs will be an asset.
  • Graduate or Post-graduate degree in graphic design from a reputed design institute.
  • Flair for creating engaging and compelling graphic designs for different audiences, online and offline, from program briefs, technical and project updates, reports and case studies.
  • Proficient in English. Similar skills in Hindi or any other regional Indian language will be a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve quality standards and work autonomously as a constructive member of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment and under pressure for tight deadlines.
  • Self starter, adaptable and able to work as part of a cross cutting and multi-cultural team.
  • A compelling graphic design portfolio of past work.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with working knowledge of CorelDraw.
  • Proficiency in creating animated gifs or animated short videos using Illustrator, After Affects, Motion or Premiere and other related software. 

Must have legal authorization to work in India.
