### **Position Overview**  

Swaniti Initiative is seeking an enthusiastic and curious professional to join our team in Guwahati, Assam, India. This role will contribute to the Assam government’s renewable energy (RE) transition goals by providing technical support and designing affordable, financially sustainable RE solutions for Assam’s Distribution Companies (DISCOMs).  

 

The selected candidate will act as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact, coordinating with partners and government departments at the state level. Reporting to the Lead-Energy and Environment, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Assam government on its energy transition vision and shape the future of sustainable energy in the state.

### **Key Responsibilities**  

1. **Technical Support & Consumer Data Analysis**:  

   – Conduct technical analysis related to renewable energy (RE) solutions, particularly decentralized renewable energy (DRE) systems, to design financially sustainable models for Assam DISCOMs.  

   – Provide expert input on integrating RE solutions to improve DISCOM financial health and ensure affordable electricity for consumers.  

   – Analyze consumer data to identify subsidized demographics, energy consumption patterns, and potential for rooftop solar adoption.  

 

2. **Literature Review & Policy Analysis**:  

   – Conduct literature reviews and research on successful DRE models and policy frameworks from other regions.  

   – Analyze and recommend policies to support scaling of DRE solutions in Assam.  

 

3. **Stakeholder Coordination & Event Organization**:  

   – Serve as the primary point of contact for Swaniti Initiative, facilitating communication with government departments, DISCOMs, and external partners.  

   – Organize workshops, consultations, and meetings to develop strategies for scaling renewable energy solutions.  

 

4. **Policy Advocacy & Monitoring**:  

   – Assist in advocating for policy changes to facilitate DRE adoption.  

   – Support monitoring and evaluation of RE projects to assess their impact on energy access, financial sustainability, and DISCOM operations.  

 

5. **Collaboration with Partners & Reporting**:  

   – Collaborate with a consortium of partners and external experts to leverage technical and financial expertise.  

   – Report progress to the Lead-Energy and Environment, maintain detailed documentation, and develop case studies and reports on project outcomes.

### **Eligibility Criteria**  

– **Educational Qualifications**: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in renewable energy, energy policy, or sustainable development are advantageous.  

– **Experience**: At least 2-3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on decentralized energy solutions, energy policy, or energy systems integration. Experience working with government bodies, DISCOMs, or energy utilities is highly desirable.  

– **Technical Knowledge**: Strong understanding of DRE solutions (e.g., rooftop solar, microgrids) and familiarity with renewable energy policy frameworks, grid integration challenges, and financing models.  

– **Language Proficiency**: Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Assamese and Hindi is an added advantage.

### **Location & Travel**  

The role requires willingness to work in the DISCOM office in Guwahati, Assam, and travel within the state to engage with stakeholders. Occasional travel to Swaniti’s office in Delhi may be required based on project needs.
