### **Position Overview**  

Swaniti Initiative is seeking an enthusiastic and curious professional to join our team and contribute to the Assam government’s renewable energy (RE) transition goals. This role will provide technical support in designing affordable, financially sustainable RE solutions for Assam’s Distribution Companies (DISCOMs). The selected candidate will act as a subject expert and primary point of contact, coordinating with partners and government departments at the state level.  

 

### **Key Responsibilities**  

– Conduct technical analysis related to renewable energy (RE) solutions, especially decentralized renewable energy (DRE) systems, to design financially sustainable models for Assam DISCOMs.  

– Provide expert input on integrating RE solutions to improve DISCOM financial health and ensure affordable electricity for consumers.  

– Analyze consumer data to identify subsidized demographics, energy consumption patterns, and potential for rooftop solar adoption.  

– Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate consumer insights into energy solution design.  

– Conduct literature reviews and policy analysis to inform project design and implementation.  

– Advocate for policy changes and provide technical recommendations to support the clean energy transition.  

– Monitor and evaluate renewable energy projects to assess their impact on energy access, financial sustainability, and DISCOM operations.  

– Coordinate with partners, external experts, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.  

– Prepare reports, case studies, and presentations on project progress and findings.  

 

### **Eligibility Criteria**  

– **Educational Qualifications:** Bachelor’s or Master’s in Energy, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in renewable energy, energy policy, or sustainable development are advantageous.  

– **Experience:** At least 2-3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on decentralized energy solutions, energy policy, or energy systems integration. Experience working with government bodies, DISCOMs, or energy utilities is highly desirable.  

– **Technical Knowledge:** Strong understanding of DRE solutions (e.g., rooftop solar, microgrids) and familiarity with renewable energy policy frameworks, grid integration challenges, and financing models.  

– **Language Proficiency:** Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Assamese and Hindi is an added advantage.

This is a full-time position based in Guwahati, India. The selected candidate will be required to work in the DISCOM office in Guwahati and may need to travel within the state for stakeholder engagement.
