Content Development and Pedagogical Research

Role and Responsibilities

Researching on how students best learn maths (pedagogy of maths) and improving Ei offerings based on that by– 

  • Conducting research experiments to test hypothesis 
  • Reading of relevant research papers in academic journals 
  • Analysing data on questions and learning modules 
  • Interacting with external subject experts and researchers 
  • Interacting with students and understanding how they think 
  • Attending conferences and presenting a paper or publishing papers in an international journal 
  • Contribute to offerings of Ei like Ei ASSET, Ei CARES, Ei Mindspark and large- scale education projects 
  • Diagnosing core misconceptions and creating content to remediate them 
  • Create pedagogically rich and innovative content for these products improving  learning significantly 
  • Critically review the content of these products and recommend improvements 
  • Build internal capacity of Educational Specialists (ESes) in Ei 
  • Conduct trainings for Educational specialists to sharpen their understanding of  good assessments and teaching of maths 
  • Sharing insights on students learning analysing data from the offerings of Ei and 
    how to use them to improve the offerings 

Skillset

Must have

  • Love for maths and a mindset to research into how students best learn maths! 
  • Deep understanding of mathematics and mathematical thinking 
  • Understanding of leading Indian and 1-2 International curricula; ability to compare and 
    critique different curricula 
  • Understanding of pedagogical approach to enable learning of maths 
  • Ability to critically analyze questions, assessments, and pedagogical approaches 
  • Ability to create and source engaging assessments for students 
  • Ability to create and source effective lesson plans to teach a math concept 
  • Basic data analysis skills, and basic understanding of statistics 
  • Basic technological awareness (Windows functions, MS Office and MS Excel in 
    particular, email features) 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Sticking to project schedules and effective workload management

Education

Subject background in maths and/or maths education at a Masters’ level or above

Experience

5 or more years of experience in maths education
