**Job Description**

 

This is an exciting opportunity for creative, analytical, and energetic individuals to join Pratham’s English Program team and contribute to the organization’s mission of improving education across India. 

 

As an Associate, you will play a vital role in three key areas:

 

* **Developing compelling course content and engaging learning materials:** You will leverage your understanding of English as a second language to create effective and stimulating learning resources for students at various proficiency levels. 

* **Building and reinforcing teachers’ capacities via online and offline workshops:** You will design and implement training programs that equip teachers with the necessary content knowledge and pedagogical skills to deliver engaging English lessons.

* **Testing content feasibility, tracking field progress, and documenting program outcomes:** You will conduct research, analyze data, and contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the program’s effectiveness.

 

**Key Responsibilities**

 

* **Content Development:**

    * Conduct research and develop innovative English language learning materials aligned with program requirements and diverse proficiency levels.

    * Incorporate educational technology into content development.

    * Design training modules and deliver workshops to enhance teachers’ skills in using the developed content. 

* **Research and Evaluation:**

    * Collaborate with subject specialists, policymakers, and other professionals to improve English language teaching practices in India.

    * Develop tools for identifying learning gaps and tailoring instruction to individual learners.

    * Stay abreast of current research and trends in second language acquisition and educational contexts in India.

* **Monitoring and Documentation:**

    * Regularly visit program locations to observe classrooms, provide teacher support, and gather data for reports.

    * Encourage teachers to participate in ongoing curriculum improvement efforts.

 

**Location:**

 

The Associate will be based at Pratham’s office in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, with extensive travel to program locations across India. 

 

**Qualifications, Skills, And Experience**

 

**Required:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field.

* Excellent written and oral English communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating engaging content.

* Fluency in Hindi.

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

* Excellent planning and organizational skills.

* Self-motivation, ability to work independently, and strong time management skills.

* Deep interest in Pratham’s goals and mission.

* Willingness to travel extensively to rural areas with limited amenities. 

 

**Preferred:**

 

* Experience in developing content for English Language Learners.

* 1-2 years of prior experience in a similar role in the development or private sector.

* Ability to communicate in more than one Indian language.

 

**Compensation:**

 

* Remuneration: ₹38,000-42,000 per month (CTC); negotiable based on the experience and skill set of the applicant.

* Travel, food, and lodging costs for work-related travel outside the base location will be separately borne or reimbursed on actuals by Pratham.
