**Position Overview**
This Associate position within Pratham’s English Program offers a dynamic opportunity for creative and passionate individuals to contribute significantly to improving education across India. As part of the English Team, the Associate will play a vital role in developing engaging learning materials, enhancing teacher capacity, and evaluating program outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Content Development:**
* Conduct thorough research to create effective and engaging English language learning materials, aligning with program standards and catering to diverse proficiency levels.
* Employ innovative instructional strategies and integrate basic educational technology into content development.
* Design and implement training programs to equip teachers with relevant content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
**Research and Evaluation:**
* Collaborate with educators, subject specialists, and policymakers to promote effective and learner-centric teaching practices in second language acquisition.
* Develop and adapt tools for identifying learning gaps and learning styles, tailoring solutions to program needs.
* Review and analyze current and past national and international research in second language acquisition and educational contexts in India.
**Monitoring and Documentation:**
* Conduct regular field visits to program locations to observe classroom dynamics, provide teacher support, and compile reports.
* Facilitate curriculum improvement by providing teachers with necessary resources and creating frameworks for constructive feedback.
**Location:**
The Associate will be based at Pratham’s office in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, with frequent travel to program locations across India.
**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**
**Required:**
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field.
* Exceptional command of oral and written English, with strong editing and content assessment skills.
* Fluency in Hindi.
* Ability to work effectively in diverse teams and build positive relationships with individuals from various backgrounds.
* Strong planning and creative problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of managing high-pressure environments and meeting tight deadlines.
* Deep interest in Pratham’s mission.
* Willingness to travel regularly and extensively to rural areas in India.
**Preferred:**
* Experience in developing content for English language learners.
* 1-2 years of work experience in a related role in the development or private sectors.
* Fluency in additional Indian languages.
**Compensation**
* Remuneration: ₹38,000-42,000 per month (CTC), negotiable based on experience and skills.
* Travel, food, and lodging expenses for work-related travel outside the base location will be reimbursed by Pratham.
