2.       Position Summary

Motivated and detail-oriented finance and compliance professional with a solid foundation in compliance, financial and accounting principles. Eager to contribute as a finance staff at Dasra, providing crucial support in day-to-day financial and compliance related operations. Experienced in regulatory compliance, management of donor and vendor MIS, document management, with a focus on contributing to compliance, budgeting, financial accounting, and reporting functions.

3.       Principal Accountabilities / Key Deliverables

1.       Compliance Management:

·         Stay abreast of relevant financial regulations, laws, and best practices to ensure organizational compliance

·         Take a lead role in Income tax scrutiny and assessments, FCRA and other regulatory inspections

·         Assist in conducting compliance audits and reviews to assess compliance with internal policies and external regulations

·         Assist in review/development and implementation of policies and procedures to uphold compliance standards across all financial activities

·         Assist in collaboration with program departments to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures as needed

2.       Statutory and Secretarial Compliance:

·         Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and regulations applicable to the organization included but not limited to Income Tax, FCRA, MCA and GST.

·         Maintain records and filings required by regulatory authorities, such as tax filings (TDS, Profession tax, Income Tax, FCRA, MCA including Secretarial filings etc), annual reports, and registrations

·         Prepare and file necessary documentation for board meetings, including meeting notices, agendas, and minutes

·         Assist in the preparation of legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

·         Liaise with external legal counsel (Company Secretary), Tax consultant and regulatory authorities as needed to address compliance requirements

·         Maintain a record of all active licenses/registration certificates and take proactive actions for its renewal and assist in new/fresh application of the any registration.

3.       Financial Reporting and Record Keeping:

·         Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

·         Assist in the preparation of financial statements, Cash and fund flow statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and completeness

·         Support in reviewing the Invoice along with the supporting as per the purchase policy and ensuring adherence to all relevant policy.

4.       Vendor & Donor Management

·         Assist the team as one of the primary points of contact for donors and vendors regarding financial matters

·         Establish and maintain strong relationships with different teams to manage donors and vendors MIS, ensuring timely communication and resolution of inquiries

·         Coordinate the receipt and processing of donations and vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies

·         Monitor donor agreements and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions

·         Assist in preparation of financial reports for donors, providing transparency and accountability regarding fund utilization

·         Play a pivotal role in steering the entire lifecycle of grants disbursement, revisiting the current process and flowchart.

·         Efficiently manage the end-to-end process of grants disbursement, including KYC review, disbursement, monitoring and reporting.

·         Ensure compliance with relevant law, grant guidelines and donor requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
·         Work closely with other departments, such as programs, grants management, talent management and administration, to support financial aspects of projects and initiatives

·         Assist in providing financial guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

·         Participate in meetings and discussions related to financial planning, compliance management, fundraising, and program implementation.

Process Efficiency:

·         Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency within the compliance management and finance function.

·         Implement improvements to streamline internal compliance processes.

Others:

·         Keep abreast of the latest development in the financial regulations as well as NGO sector specific rules and regulations.

 4.       Key Skills & Competencies

Education and Work experience

·         Master’s Degree in commerce or Inter-CA with 3-5 years of experience in regulatory and secretarial compliances & financial management.

·         Working experience with Non-Profit organisation would be an added advantage

Required skills and abilities

·         Excellent knowledge of statutory and secretarial compliance for NGOs

·         Sound accounting, book keeping knowledge, advanced knowledge and proficiency in excel.

·         Ability to analyse financial information effectively; proficiency in Tally ERP accounting system

·         Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;

·         Excellent organizational, time management, multi-tasking and project management skills;

·         Ability to self-initiate, problem solve, make decisions independently

·         Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural team, under pressure and to tight deadlines
