Position Overview:
The Program Associate would assist Director, Innovation and Donor Engagement in end to end support for development of new grant proposals. This would include collecting secondary information/data related to education, understanding the RtR program design & Country Strategy and basis the requirement of the specific proposal/pitch, focus on development of various customized documents. These documents could be of various type – ranging from – initial concept notes, power-points/decks, budget estimates to full-fledged detailed proposals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collecting secondary information – this is a pivotal part of any proposal and would require –
- Ability to understand current policy landscape of the country.
- Understand components of key reforms being implemented across the country.
- Collect basic secondary data related to education from UDISE
- Read various reports by Govt and think-tanks and use those relevant data sources
- Understand various assessment and research reports for the related programs and use insights from the same in proposals.
Understanding RtR’s program design –
- Attend key trainings to build understanding of both Literacy and Girls Education Program.
- Read, understand and articulate key program elements of both the programs.
- Understand program insights from execution so far.
- Work with relevant teams in ensuring that the latest articulations are used in the proposals/pitch.
Understanding Program assessments and reach
- Develop strong understanding of key assessments done by RtR and using insights from the same in new proposals.
- Understand how reach numbers are estimated over the course of project and accurately estimate those in the proposal/decks.
Proposal development
- Basis the information and insights develop initial draft of proposals for technical assistance for
- Literacy and Girls Education Program in partnership with specific teams.
- Incorporating various changes suggested by Supervisor.
- Work with Finance team in developing budget estimates.
Planning and Management
- Create a tracker of proposals and update the Supervisor on the same.
- Develop an internal time-line of development of documents to ensure there is no miss on that front.
- Co-ordinate with State, Country and Global office team in providing all relevant information.
- Ensure development of high quality documents and on time.
- Represent Director (I&DE) in various meetings as required.
- Organise and host key donor visits, if required.
Other
- Participate in any other activities which may be required to be undertaken to fulfil the objectives of the organization.
- Attend internal meetings (Literacy, GEP review, planning, workshops, coordination meeting etc.) and external workshops as and when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Undertake field visits as required, in consultation with Supervisor.
Qualification & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s / Master Degree in Management/Business administration/social work or related field is desirable.
- Must be experiences with excellent project writing developing and research from beginning to end with strong systems ability as desired for international/outcome based grants including meeting deadlines and adhering to guidelines.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Comfortable with working on numbers especially detailed proposal one.
- Should have strong presentation and interpersonal skills, Layout Skills and process improvement.
- Ability to easily change writing styles to fit the audience and voice of the piece.
- Poses strong oral and Interpersonal Skills to be able to communicate with potential organizations and or government contacts on the desired grant.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people with diverse communication styles.
- Excellent coordination and problem solving skills.
- Good team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PPT, Word and Excel.
