The/Nudge is an action institute dedicated to creating a poverty-free India.  We collaborate with governments, markets, and civil society to build resilient livelihoods, focusing on empowering rural communities and fostering a thriving livelihoods ecosystem.  Our work spans direct programs addressing challenges faced by rural populations and building a supportive environment for impactful solutions to scale.  The Insight Program specifically tackles the issue of uncorrected presbyopia, aiming to improve the productivity and income of millions of Indians through increased access to reading glasses.  This involves collaborating with government bodies, implementing effective distribution strategies, and leveraging technology to achieve nationwide impact.

 

**Job Summary:**

 

The Associate Manager will play a crucial role in The/Nudge’s Insight Program, supporting collaborations with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) and other key stakeholders.  This position requires a strong understanding of Indian government structures, policy landscapes, and rural development challenges.  The successful candidate will conduct research, analyze data, develop policy proposals, and manage projects to ensure the program’s effective implementation and scale.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Support collaboration with the MoSJE and key stakeholders.

* Conduct research on legislation and policies related to marginalized communities and access to reading glasses.

* Identify and address gaps in program design and execution.

* Understand and apply knowledge of government implementation structures at various levels (State, District, Block, GP).

* Analyze data from various sources to inform program strategies.

* Write reports and policy proposals for diverse audiences (government officials, public).

* Contribute to the development and revision of policies.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Statistics, International Relations, Legal Studies, Sociology, or Economics.

* 4-7 years of relevant work experience; experience working with the Indian government is preferred.

* Strong understanding of field-level challenges in rural India concerning government program delivery.

* Proficiency in data analysis, research methodologies, and analytical tools.

* Excellent project management skills.

* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

* Strong understanding of the Indian policy landscape and government frameworks.

* Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
