About the organization:

Swaniti is a decade-old organization working in the space of policy-making and public service delivery. Our projects have been focused on supporting the government administration in strategizing scheme implementation, providing research support to Hon’ble Members of Parliament, and developing data-technology tools. With flagship initiatives like Supporting Parliamentarians in Analysis and Research in Constituencies (SPARC) and Leadership and Engagement Associate in District (LEAD), Swaniti has supported Constituency Development and District Development Planning in various parts of the country. At present, along with working with 100+ Hon’ble Members of Parliamentarians for policy-making, we are working with several state and district governments providing technical assistance to ensure the delivery of schemes to the last mile. Major verticals of our work are Climate and Sustainability, Social Protection, Policy Engagements, Technology, and Rural Livelihood & Governance.

Roles and Responsibilties

• Writing research papers on various topics of national and international importance.
• Conducts policy research and analysis to support existing projects as well as proposals for new bodies of work; synthesizes research findings to identify and recommend best practices
• Extracts collects, and aggregates data across databases, information sources, survey responses, and other data sources; ensures data quality; cleans and checks existing data for consistency and accuracy.
• Develops data visualizations for diverse audiences and develops, formats, and prepares reports, charts, and/or graphs for varying documents and written and oral presentations for both internal and external audiences; collaborates with teams to design and help integrate data into an approved format.
• Conducts data standardization processes; proactively identifies and proposes alternatives to improve the stability, performance, and accuracy of the data.
• Assists in coordinating, administering, analyzing, and reporting on AAU surveys.
• Assists with one-pagers and topic briefs to support the team’s work.
• Assists in efforts to improve internal information tracking systems and enhance the policy department’s collaborations and communications on integrated activities with other members of the staff.
• Communicates through social media about relevant data and policy issues pertinent to the department.
• Contributes professional expertise and experience concerning science policy, higher education policy, and other policy areas most relevant to research universities.
• Conducts background research and data support for team initiatives.
• Collaborate with the media and communications team for creating posts on topics related to the broader policy department

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, and other related social science streams.
• 3 years of prior experiences in research roles

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities
• Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of government policies, schemes, and functioning
• Knowledge of the development sector, especially NGO interventions
• Written and Verbal communication in Hindi is necessary
