Villgro is an impact-first incubator of startups and we are arguably the leaders in fostering grounds up social innovations in the Climate Action sector. We invest in (through grants, low-cost debt, and equity) climate technology startups and SMEs, along with specific technical assistance. To achieve our mission of creating social impact at scale, we have expanded our incubation model to build partnerships with channel partners, networks of FPOs, SHGs and implementation NGOs. We are also building a suite of impact financing solutions that can reduce the barriers to adopting new technologies.
Our interest areas are in disruptive solutions that can create & support green livelihoods across markets, innovations that create value out of waste, and solutions that can make mobility more inclusive while being sustainable. We want to build multi-donor platforms that can work with over 100 startups and demonstrate high financial leverage for philanthropic capital.
Job Description
Villgro wants a dynamic professional passionate about social impact and with an entrepreneurial streak to scale our Climate Action sector.
Role deliverables
Strategy:
1. Create the annual plan and strategy for the Climate Action sector, in line with the sector’s 5-year goals.
Program Delivery:
1. Be accountable for the delivery of committed results and impact across all major programs.
2. Support incubation managers & analysts with select portfolio companies to help them achieve milestones.
3. Lead a team of program leads, incubation managers & analysts and help them achieve their objectives and career goals.
Funder relations:
1. Support the fundraising team to create inspirational program designs and proposals.
2. Maintaining strong relationships with existing program funders and ensuring timely reporting as per their formats.
Outreach:
1. Be savvy about communication and visibility for the sector. Engage the marketing team to amplify through social media and other channels
2. Represent Villgro in the ecosystem and evangelize our point of view.

The ideal candidate would have,
1. Master’s degree – in business, technology, economics.
2. 10-15 years of experience in operational roles that involved handling complex projects with a good track record of delivering results.
3. Experience in sectors related to Climate Action and/or social entrepreneurship. 4. Excellent people management skills and ability to handle diverse teams.
5. At least a working knowledge of financial management, investing and financial statements. 6. Fantastic communication and persuasion skills to influence stakeholders.
7. The drive and high level of initiative + ownership.
