**About IHAT:** India Health Action Trust, established in 2003, is a charitable trust dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized populations by addressing health and social inequities.  IHAT collaborates with the Government of India and various state governments on comprehensive and sustainable programs to enhance population health, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention and control, tuberculosis, reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health (RMNCH), nutrition, and health systems strengthening.

 

**Job Location:** Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India

 

**About the Program:** The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated technical assistance to the Uttar Pradesh government, focusing on accelerating progress in RMNCH and nutrition.  UPTSU works closely with the government at various levels to optimize programs and services, integrating its assistance within the existing health system for scalability and sustainability.

 

**Job Summary:** The Specialist/Associate Supply Chain will support the Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation (UPMSC) in enhancing procurement and supply chain processes for drugs and consumables. This includes analyzing bottlenecks, suggesting improvements, implementing the DVDMS-enabled passbook system, and collaborating with other teams to improve drug and consumable availability at public health facilities.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Identify and support the development of robust supply chain models, documenting and replicating best practices.

* Support the establishment of urban health initiatives, coordinating activities and integrating technical inputs.

* Provide technical/operational support and coordinate last-mile delivery.

* Facilitate implementation reviews and provide feedback.

* Support planning and budgeting for drugs and consumables.

* Streamline purchase order placement and analyze supplier performance to improve drug availability at district warehouses.

* Support the implementation and operation of the DVDMS-enabled passbook system.

* Monitor drug availability at health facilities and support indenting processes.

* Collaborate with the state procuring agency to continuously improve procurement processes.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

**Work Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management for medium-to-large organizations or government/non-government systems.

 

**Education:**

 

* **Required:** Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Pharmacy, Public Health, or a related field.

* **Preferred:** Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

 

**Key Competencies:**

 

* Strong understanding of drugs and public procurement/supply chain.

* Experience working with government at various levels.

* Excellent reporting and analysis skills.

* Strong communication and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment.

* Familiarity with national and state public health systems.

* Understanding of public health supply chain issues in India.

* Teamwork and collaboration skills.

* Ability to work independently on complex projects.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Hindi).

* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

 

**Travel Requirements:** 10% travel required.
