The Position: Block Coordinator – Agriculture

Location: Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India

The Block Coordinator – Agriculture would design, implement and monitor agriculture projects under HCL Samuday Project

Responsibilities

  • Create location specific plan for the implementation of projects in a time-bound manner
  • Manage project activities and events with the help of volunteers and other stakeholders
  • Collect data on the status of the project, conduct surveys to monitor project implementation progress
  • Assist farmers and communities to achieve agriculture-related objectives, follow a package of practices by providing training and advisory
  • Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for project managers and stakeholders
  • Scheduling stakeholder meetings and facilitating communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  • Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time
  • Assign tasks to volunteers and help them understand what’s expected from them in terms of activity completion
  • Liaise and coordinate support services from local government stakeholders
  • Liaise with technical specialists in the coordination of technical development and support to projects.
  • Monitor and lead correction process to ensure project documentation, deliverables, and data are maintained consistently in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Perform other Program and project duties as assigned.

Block Coordinator Education & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture or other relevant field with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant working experience supporting donor-funded programming (or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant work experience).
  • Knowledge of agriculture, private sector development, and/or nutrition preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly (verbal and written).
  • Advanced knowledge and skill with MS Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Tamil and English.
