About the Livelihoods Program

AIF’s Livelihoods program envisions a world where poor and vulnerable communities have access to dignified work opportunities, empower them with sustainable livelihoods. Since 2006, the Livelihoods Program has directly and indirectly served 2.20 million people from vulnerable communities. Leveraging technology to provide financial and market linkages, knowledge, skills, and dignified work opportunities, the program helps the communities secure jobs, manage enterprises, and make a respectable living. Since its inception in 2006, through its flagship programs Market Aligned Skills Training (MAST) and Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment (ABLE), AIF Livelihoods has provided program support to 825,960 disadvantaged youth, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and impacted 343,727 livelihoods.

About The Project

AIFT aims to influence the skilling and employment ecosystem for inclusion and empowerment of youth from the marginalized and economically weaker section of the society through a project over a period of 1 year in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad (Telangana) and Mumbai (Maharashtra).

This program aims to empower the Sales professionals to excel in their roles by focusing on skilling in credit processing, store security, product expertise, personalized customer support, improved communication skills, interpersonal skills and continuous service improvement. This project endeavours to benefit 5,000 individuals across these three locations through interventions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for facilitating smooth implementation of the project on ground.

2. Ensure alignment of all the activities of the center as per project timelines and support the training center team.

3. Gather market intelligence on new trends and best practices with respect to training and employment and feed into planning and implementation.

4. Collect feedback from candidates undergoing training and employed in a structured manner.

5. Ensure all documentation is maintained related to the beneficiaries, project and its implementation and arrange all project documentation for AIFT’s records.

6. Manage project timelines and center budget utilization to fulfil project commitments.

7. Manage the center team of mobilizer, and trainers to achieve project targets in a timely manner.

8. Develop the training plan (batch schedule, curriculum delivery plan –week wise and daily rostering) with the teams and ensure adherence to the plan to achieve the target.

9. Ensure smooth training delivery on different modules –Employability skills, Sales and Retail marketing etc.,

10. Ensure high quality of training delivered through the multi-skills training centers.

11. Organize various activities for candidates to increase exposure of candidates as part of the training program.

12. Create and maintain a database of potential recruiters of youth and women in the project area.

13. Generate leads on employment opportunities and Identification of job roles in the project area.

14. Establish industry collaborations to increase employment opportunities and communicate appropriately about the project and organization and secure employment.

15. Organize exposure visits / placement drives / job-fairs to engage employers.

16. Lead all recruitment related activities and provide necessary support to both employer and candidates during the onboarding process and ensure proper induction.

17. To collaborate and promote Career Planning services through presentations, student organization outreach.

18. Ensure timely submission of periodic reports (programmatic and financial).

19. Facilitate availability of trainee database on real-time basis in the AIFT MIS portal substantiated with the relevant supporting documents for the training centre along with proper documentation and maintenance of project records (physical and soft copies).

21. Check all documentation (1st level) on ground when being uploaded on the AIFT MIS.

22. Develop reports and manage project documentation for internal and external stakeholders including donors.

23. Ensure success stories are documented and shared periodically for program communication through AIFT social media handles.

24. Facilitate donor and other stakeholder visits for AIFT.

25. Travel to field as and when required

26. Any other cross functional initiatives as assigned by the line manager

27. Any other task assigned by line manager that might emerge depending upon the need and opportunity decided by AIFT.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Commerce/Science/Social Work with at least 5-6 years of experience in managing skilling programs.

• Prior experience of managing multi-skills training center.

• Experienced of working on women empowerment program will be an advantage.

• Experience of work on livelihoods options and micro-entrepreneurs.

• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

• Have a flair for technology and adept at using virtual communication tools.

• Well informed of labor market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services.

• Strong presentation skills

• Possesses a variety of skill sets including time management, team management, multi-tasking, inter-personal and problem-solving ability.

• Consistently approaches work with positive energy and a constructive attitude.
