Requirements
Position Summary –
We are looking for a candidate with at least 15 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry who can review, define and execute IndusAction’s technology strategy, keeping in mind the organization’s mission and goals. In tune with IndusAction’s action research and data driven approach to welfare access, the candidate will need to have experience in data management, security, application development, tech strategy, to oversee a range of functions/ projects towards achieving the organization’s goals. Some experience in the development sector is preferred to enable deeper understanding of the end user’s needs and context in which we operate.

Role and Responsibilities (including KRAs)
- Assess needs, design and execute the development of software applications that help the programs operationally and provide evidence for the efficacy of work. This could involve development or solutioning of data collection systems, stand-alone mobile and web applications, and also data pipeline systems.
- Design and execute the data strategy and roadmap for efficient data management and analysis in different programs.
- Guide and assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Team in leveraging data to positively impact and drive the organization
- Lead and inspire the Program teams to identify the business needs, process gaps and levers to build efficient systems with the use of technology
- Identifying and building relationships with partners who can build and deploy the necessary applications and technologies meeting the needs of the organization
- Building internal team’s capacity on technological tools and processes to assist in IT operations with regards to established goals.
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
- Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
- Communicate technology strategy to funders, board and other stakeholders; work on funding proposals
- Serve as manager, mentor, and coach to all staff. This includes managing the lead and developers above in their regular activities. Managing the team performance and compliance with the organization’s processes.
- Share learning opportunities and enable learning opportunities with the team members to make learning and development a team sport. This would also include hiring new developers, engineers or product managers or working with vendors and consultants.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the Tech domain, maintaining partnerships with organizations like Tech For Good, Tech4Devand establishing relations with innovators in the domain.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
- Business Acumen: Being able to grasp an understanding of the challenges being faced by end users, identify appropriate solutions within available budgets, understand costing of technology solutions / services and make comparative analysis between service providers
- Professional Expertise: A strong working knowledge of technology applications, best practices and processes for introduction / adaptation of technology solutions, data management, data security, existing & emerging technology applicable for the sector and IndusAction’s focus areas, including capability building of teams. Should be well versed with principles of designing thinking, planning and execution, budget management, quality control, and monitoring and evaluation
- Coaching and Mentoring: Proficient in developing and managing a team of staff at all levels, including collaborating with users in other parts of the organization to enable ideation and adoption of new technology solutions
- Trust and Integrity: The highest standards of integrity in internal and external dealings
- Organizational Skills: Personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands
- Communication Skills: The incumbent is expected to lead the technology team, managing diverse personalities and viewpoints. Therefore high emotional intelligence, the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is critical for the role

Education and Experience –
- BTech/MTech with at least 15 years’ experience in the IT Software Application Development/Data industry. A minimum of 3 years in a strategic role is strongly preferred. Experience working on technology in the social sector is preferred.

Compensation
The compensation will be based on the Indus Action‘s compensation benchmarking rubric. The range of compensation will be depending on the qualifications, experience and fit to the role
The candidate would need to use his/her own laptop and the organization will bear the annual maintenance cost upto 12000 per year as per actuals.
Location – Remotely (preferred to be in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad or Chennai); Expect a travel to different work locations of IndusAction with a rough frequency of 1 travel (1-2 days) every month.
