**Job Location:** Bhopal, India

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas is required.

* Experience of working in a developing country is considered as an asset.

* Relevant experience in programme development in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

* Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage.

 

**Job Description:**

 

The Child Protection Officer, under the guidance of the Child Protection Specialist, provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programs/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. The child protection program primarily focuses on children and adolescents, extending some interventions to young people (young people include those aged 15-24 years). 

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Support to program development and planning:** Conduct and update situation analysis, research and report on development trends, contribute to the development of sectoral program goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning.

* **Program management, monitoring, and delivery of results:** Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, monitor and report on the use of sectoral program resources, prepare regular and mandated sectoral program/project reports.

* **Technical and operational support to program implementation:** Conduct regular program field visits and reviews, provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, civil society partners, UN system partners, and other country office partners/donors.

* **Networking and partnership building:** Build and sustain close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders, participate in inter-agency meetings/events, research information on potential donors, and draft communication and information materials for CO program advocacy.

* **Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building:** Identify, capture, synthesize, and share lessons learned, apply innovative approaches, research and report on best practices, and participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development/relations, human rights, psychology, sociology, social work, law, or another relevant social science field.

* Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
