Wadhwani AI is a non-profit applied AI institute that brings artificial intelligence technology to social challenges in low and middle-income countries. Through our solutions, AI becomes an enabling technology that bridges the gap between problems and solutions, augments human capabilities and provides advanced decision support. We collaborate with social sector organizations, the government, domain experts and academic institutions to identify real-world challenges, create and deploy innovative AI solutions to reach intended users and beneficiaries – with the objective of creating sustainable, scalable impact. Currently, we are building AI-based solutions in the agriculture and health domains, such as pest management, maternal, newborn and child health, tuberculosis and COVID19.

Wadhwani AI was the only Google AI impact challenge winner from India in 2019, and the first organization in the Asia Pacific to welcome a cohort of Google Fellows. 
Our pest management solution, CottonAce earned an honorable mention at the Fast Company World Changing Awards 2021. 
In April 2022, CottonAce was announced as one of the five winners of the Global Change Award (GCA) in 2022. The Global Change Award is an endeavor by the H&M Foundation to transform fashion and turn the entire industry planet positive. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and manage an integrated strategy that promotes Wadhwani AI’s objectives as well as messages to key stakeholder audiences: Innovators, Government, Partners, Donors, and similar. 
  • Proactively facilitate the planning and implementation of communication strategies, official Blog, develop high-quality press releases, and related materials and updating the brochure, website and newsletter content as required. 
  • Support the fundraising team with creation of presentations and proposals – targeted towards donors, fundraising pitches and grant opportunities 
  • Conceptualise and manage the creation of multimedia content, like videos, podcasts etc. 
  • Define our target audience groups and create innovative messaging and content made specifically for social media. 
  • Work with HR and help build a strong employer brand both internally and externally 
  • Design and implement public relations, brand building and communication strategies to help cultivate our relationships with the media 
  • Develop and oversee all of the elements of a PR program including proactive story generation, press releases, thought leadership pieces, media query responses, reputation management, crisis management, etc – and managing and monitoring an external PR team – with their deadlines, objectives, and schedules. 
  • Liaising with journalists, other media professionals, PR agency and other relevant industry associations for media opportunities 
  • Drive and execute media events, briefings, presentations, speakership opportunities, etc. 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelors/Master from a reputed institute specializing in Communications/PR would be preferable 
  • 10 + years of experience in communication and PR 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting and content creation skills 
  • Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently 
  • Experience of working in social sector would be an advantage 
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple media projects/initiatives 
  • Good understanding of Marketing, PR and social media
