## Communication Project Assistant for Culture

**Job Description:**
This is a Service Contract (SC) position at the SC (G-5) level, with a duration of 1 year. The Communication Project Assistant for Culture will play a vital role in developing and implementing the communication strategy for UNESCO’s Culture Sector in New Delhi. The role will focus on maximizing the impact of the organization’s initiatives in safeguarding South Asia’s rich cultural heritage, specifically projects like Rural Crafts and Cultural Hubs (RCCH) in West Bengal and Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Developing Cultural Tourism in Rajasthan.
**Responsibilities:**
* Assist the Project Team in Content Development: Develop talking points, press releases, opinion editorials, and multimedia content to convey the significance of safeguarding heritage. Serve as a key storyteller, translating programmatic output into relatable narratives for diverse audiences.
* Assist in Digital and Social Media Management: Develop and manage content for websites and social media platforms of extrabudgetary projects and UNESCO, New-Delhi to enhance visibility. Track and analyze social media performance and respond to inquiries and feedback.
* Assist in Media and Public Relations: Prepare media advisories and press releases to highlight key milestones in the Culture Sector’s work. Cultivate relationships with media representatives and stakeholders to enhance coverage and support.
* Assist in Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with UNESCO’s Communication and Public Engagement (CPE) sector and culture team to ensure consistent communication efforts across various cultural projects. Coordinate with other sectors for any intersectoral work related to Culture.
* Coordination with Stakeholders: Coordinate with project partners like government bodies and NGOs to develop communication material for assigned projects.
* Knowledge Dissemination: Assist the sector in collating reports, case studies, documentation, or other content related to the projects for knowledge dissemination.
* Perform other duties as requested by the Director of the Office and the Chief of the Culture Sector.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of communication and social media.
* Work experience in supporting project management and coordination.
* Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English and Hindi.
**Desirable Qualifications:**
* Advanced university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in mass communication, or relevant fields.
* Previous experience in the organization of national-level cultural projects/events.
* Ability to work in partnership with a wide range of national, regional, and international organizations.
