In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Communications Associate for its flagship health systems strengthening project NISHTHA. The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will provide support to the communication vertical under the NISHTHA project. The position will report to the Communication Officer. This is a fixed-term position for one year, with a scope of further extension based on performance and continuity of funding.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and editing content for diverse communication channels, including social media, brochures, factsheets, infographics, IEC posters, etc.
  • Assist in creating visual content such as infographics, images, and graphics to complement written communication materials.
  • Support the communication team to develop and implement communication plans and climate-health days-specific campaigns.
  • Assemble briefing materials and prepare PowerPoint and other presentations, in collaboration with the Program team.
  • Support in the collection and compiling success stories, and data from state teams.
  • Document and disseminate progress and achievements for dissemination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Communication Officer to support the communication vertical of the project NISHTHA.
  • Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve project/ organizational goals

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in English / Journalism or related fields.
  • 1–3 years of relevant work experience in communications, preferably in the not-for-profit development sector in India.
  • Working knowledge and capabilities using design software and Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Corel Draw and Illustrator) will be preferred.
  • Working knowledge and capabilities using video editing software is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of grammar, usage, and editorial style and guidelines.
  • Possess strong aesthetic sensibility and understanding of the basic principles of graphic design.
