**Job Description:**
The Communications Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of communication strategies aligned with CSEP’s objectives. This role requires a passionate individual committed to effectively conveying research findings to key audiences. The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards of rigor, nuance, and depth in all communications.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Overseeing the development and execution of communication strategies.
* Analyzing performance data using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Hootsuite, and MailChimp.
* Managing CSEP’s website, including content updates and creation using WordPress.
* Leading social media efforts across platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
* Developing strategies to maximize the policy impact of research dissemination.
* Conceptualizing, drafting, and editing publications such as newsletters and annual reports.
* Ensuring high editorial standards and consistent messaging across all content.
* Brainstorming and guiding the team on improving internal and external communications.
**Required Qualifications:**
* 5-7 years of experience in communications, preferably within a think tank, non-profit, or public policy setting.
* Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
* Proficiency in managing social media platforms and content management systems.
* Strong understanding of web and social media analytics tools (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics).
* Familiarity with communications tools (MailChimp, Hootsuite).
* Competence in using broadcasting platforms (Zoom, YouTube).
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
**Desirable Qualifications:**
* Expertise in SEO best practices (meta tagging, keyword optimization).
* Familiarity with podcast production (editing and publishing).
