Job Description:
The Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and executing a robust and focused outreach plan for the disseminating learnings of the SELCO Foundation to relevant external audiences. Apart from key multimedia and outreach skills, the candidate must be creative in approach, have strong interpersonal communication skills, and managerial expertise. In this role, the candidate would play a key role in ensuring that the values, philosophy and key approaches of the organization are demonstrated in a consistent manner across the work portfolio.
Responsibilities:
1. Communication Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Craft messaging that effectively communicates SELCO Foundation’s work and impact.
2. Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of communication professionals to ensure cohesive and effective communication efforts.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovative approaches to communication.
3. Content and Outreach Channels:
Build and maintain relationships with content developers, writers, publications to reach wide audience
Enhance organization visibility
Oversee the creation of compelling and impactful content, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, and multimedia materials.
Ensure content is tailored for various platforms and target audiences
4. Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities and collaborations that amplify SELCO Foundation’s impact.
Engage with donors, government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen relationships.
5. Event Management and Campaign Designs:
Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and workshops to promote SELCO Foundation’s mission and initiatives.
Ensure seamless execution and coverage of events to maximize impact.
To conceptualize and develop engaging campaign ideas that align with core values to outreach organizational processes with visually appealing and impactful design concepts not limited to posters, banners, social media graphics, infographics, videos, and other multimedia materials.
Work with content creators to visually represent impactful stories and messages in campaign materials.
Use design to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular evaluations to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies.
Analyze data and feedback to refine and improve communication approaches.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
10 years experience in strategic communication, or related roles, preferably in the non-profit sector. - Proven experience in team management and leadership.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with the ability to align communication efforts with organizational goals.
- Excellent media relations skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively with diverse teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
