The National Law University, Delhi (‘University’) is seeking to engage one ‘Consultant – Designer’ on a three (3) month contractual basis, for Project 39A. The consultant will be responsible for designing two data reports representing quantitative and qualitative research on the death penalty.
About the Organisation:
Project 39A draws inspiration from Article 39-A in the Indian Constitution on equal justice and opportunity in the legal system. We work on issues specific to the criminal justice system, and undertake litigation, research and outreach relating to forensics, torture, legal aid, forensic psychiatry and death penalty (for more information on Project 39A, visit www.project39a.com).
Responsibilities:
A. Create and work on illustrations/infographics suitable for the reports.
B. Finalise the design and illustrations/graphics/tables for the reports based on feedback from and coordination with P39A Staff.
C. Prepare infographics for the website and for social media engagement on the reports.
D. Suggest printing specifications for the reports so that we may produce the best product.
E. Undertake any other work that may be necessary to fulfill the design objectives of the reports.
Qualifications:
A. 2 years of relevant experience of working as a graphic designer.
B. Ability to communicate data using data visualisation tools and infographics.
C. High degree of familiarity with design softwares like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
D. Experience in working with print medium.
Compensation: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be approximately INR 30,000-40,000/- per month. The duration of the contract currently will be three (3) months. The contract may be terminated by the University before the completion of three (3) months or may be extended as required.
