About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) aims at improving public health initiatives by supporting programs nationally and globally through providing comprehensive technical assistance in program planning, management and monitoring. IHAT has set up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide techno-managerial assistance to improve the coverage of key reproductive, maternal, new-born, child health and nutrition (RMNCHA+) interventions and services in the state from the funding support of Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation (BMGF) through University of Manitoba (UOM), Canada.

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UP TSU) was formed in 2013 to provide techno-managerial support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the GoUP and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The University of Manitoba (UoM) leads the program and has partnered with IHAT to support the government in strengthening its Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health (RMNCH) and Nutrition programs.

Job Summary :

Baseline of Rapid Assessment Survey (RAS) was conducted in 2021 among the mothers /caregivers of children 0-15 months to know the immunization coverage. Now the endline has planned to start in October 2023 to estimate the actual change in immunization coverage. This position is envisaged to collect data from the assigned districts/blocks/PSUs for the said study. S/he will also participate in the review-feedback and analysis meetings, conducted by IHAT time to time to check and ensure the quality of data.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Deliverables expected from the Job Role

  • Extensive travel across assigned districts and or blocks. Build rapport with ASHAs, ANMs and block health officials to make the data collection process easy and simple.
  • Need to stay around or near the assigned geography for easy reach
  • Field investigators will be assigned 3-4 districts for data collection
  • Ensure that all the questions were asked according to the protocol.
  • Ensure that no data loss, damaged or manipulated.
  • Immediately inform to the line manager/contact person if there is any problem related to field work/mobile/tablet/server etc.
  • Submit progress report on daily basis to the line manager
  • Field management and reporting
  • Ensure the complete listing of the HHs in the selected PSU/ ASHA area as per protocol.
  • Make sure that all eligible respondents are interviewed in the PSU
  • Interview of mother/care giver of 12-23 month’s children
  • Interview the ASHAs of the PSUs
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Line manager/ organization.

Key Inputs expected from the Job Role

  • Inform to the line manager/contact person if there is any problem related to study implementation
  • Reporting and updating data regularly as per the study need
  • Participating in review-feedback and analysis meetings

Miscellaneous

  • Ready for extensive travel in remote areas
  • Field work requires travel with own two-wheelers
  • Candidates must have two-wheelers driving license
  • Field Investigators have to arrange their own accommodation during the regular fieldwork. 

Work Experience:

Essential experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in data collection (field investigator) and field management
  • Understand the Immunization, RMNCH+A, National Health Mission

Preferred experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates with sound experience in the studies related to immunization/health
  • Experience in large scale surveys

Education:

Required Qualification

  • Graduation from a recognized and reputed university/institution

Preferred Qualification

  • Higher qualified candidates may be given preference
