Purpose

We seek to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Consultant – Finance officer as part of the Operations Team to expand its work in the area of handling its Finances, Bookkeeping, and Maintenance of all financial records in a systematic manner. Experience in GST Laws, Income Tax Laws, Accounting Standards, Project Management, Handling Tally (and comfortable in working with other ERP platforms), Advanced excel skills, would be preferred. The Consultant – Finance should be prepared, when necessary, to take additional responsibilities directly or indirectly related to the main scope of work.

She/he is expected to predominately work upon all ongoing and upcoming legal and finance related matters. Besides, there will be endless opportunities to learn and contribute across a wide range of activities at CEEW. The incumbent will be responsible for duties as highlighted below:

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

  • Knowledge of GST Laws, its accounting treatment and compliance thereof.
  • Knowledge of GST returns, RCM provisions, Export of Services and TDS provisions thereof
  • All other formalities under GST Laws.

Accounting and Taxation

  • Maintenance of Books of Accounts as per the Finance manual and policies
  • Maintenance of Fixed assets register and physical verifications at different intervals.
  • Budgeting, Staffing, Resource allocations and preparing analytical reports.
  • Preparation of monthly MIS reports.
  • Preparation of monthly/Quarterly Financial Statement.
  • Properly recording and maintaining Grant management files.
  • Prepare Budget Vs Actual reports.
  • Prepare Utilization Certificates and financial reports for the donor’s.
  • Preparation/review Payment sheet for approval.
  • Review travel and Journal entries and ensure all necessary supporting are attached.
  • Keeping a close watch on the Council’s statutory compliance.
  • Close coordination with the HR and Admin team related to financial matters.
  • Well versed to all GST, TDS and TCS provisions including return filing and rates.
  • All other supporting tasks

Audits (Statutory, FCRA and Internal)

  • Assisting team in internal/statutory/tax audit.
  • Ensuring maintenance of proper records as per the audit requirements.

Selection Criteria

Education and Experience

  • Preferably a Graduate or CA paid assistant AND a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Commerce.
  • Candidates having relevant work experience in similar industries or set-ups will be preferred.

Main skills

  • Good analytic skills and able to apply qualitative methodologies to collate and analyse information in a meaningful manner.
  • Sound knowledge of Goods & Services Act and The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010.
  • Must be an adept user of MS-office suit (word, excel, and powerpoint presentations). Advanced excel skills are desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and ability to use professional packages like Tally or other ERP platforms.
