Kalike, an Associate Organization of TATA Trusts strives to facilitate deep, large-scale and long-term impact on the quality of life through interventions in education and livelihoods in Yadgir and neighboring districts in northern Karnataka. Currently, Kalike has been focusing on ensuring quality education to the rural and deprived children in Yadgir & Koppal district, Karnataka.

About Parag initiative:

The Parag Initiative of Tata Trusts aims to strengthen the children’s literature sector in India to enable a culture of reading among children. To achieve this Parag works supports (i) the development of and access to good quality story books for children in Indian languages; (ii) supports school and community libraries across the country so that children have free access to books and an open and vibrant environment that supports reading for pleasure; (iii) offers professional development courses and works with teachers, librarians and facilitators to develop their capacity to engage with children’s literature and create a relationship between books and children. It also nurtures the children’s literature sector through awards, professional courses and creating platforms for linking stakeholders. Parag is a pan India initiative.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

This critical team member will anchor and manage the overall communication vertical for Parag Initiative. The key responsibilities include:

●     Manage PR, outreach and events. Build and maintain partnerships with associate organizations, civil society and partners for cross promotion of work and engagement.

●     Audio, video, photo and content documentation of the Program

●     Social media content generation, design and engagement building

●     Website management and content creation

●     Strategy building and communication operations

●     Organize offline and online events including sessions, workshops, talks, panels with sector experts for nurturing and building capacities within the sector

●     Communicate programmatic results through launches, campaigns, outreach & public information.

●     Ideate and implement creation, designing and dissemination of communication & outreach material

●     Manage and coordinate with external resources and vendors – photographers, videographers, editors, graphic designers, website agency, PR agency.

●     Brand management

●     Documenting impact of the program through case studies, reports (quarterly/annual) and impact stories.

●     This role will require an average 2-3 days of pre-planned travel every month.

Qualifications

Masters in Communications or allied fields

Experience: 6+ years of work experience in Communications, preferably with non-profits.

Competencies

●     Strong execution ability

●     Strong writing and storytelling skills that nurtures stakeholder engagement

●     Ability to work independently and with cross cultural teams

●     Strong project management skills. Ability to create and maintain strong relationships across geographies, and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

●     Ability to multi-task, follow up as needed with different stakeholders

●     Strong proficiency in English and Hindi especially in reading and writing

●     Problem solving attitude and ability to multitask.

●     Design Tools (InDesign, Photoshop)/ photography / video editing / writing skills

●     Interest in reading and literature. Interest and knowledge of children’s literature would be an advantage.
