Your Challenge:
At CRY – Child Rights and You, you’ll be using your professional skills and experience to help restore to underprivileged Indian children their basic rights to – survival, development, protection and participation. CRY has a holistic approach to development based on the child rights framework with community empowerment as a key ingredient. CRY also places strong emphasis on networking with other NGOs and advocacy efforts to influence macro policies for children.
The role and responsibilities of this position:
- Oversee the strategic direction of the program as well as the operational and human resource planning.
- Closely guide, supervise and mentor the Programme Managers and ensure achievement of project outcomes.
- Ensure quality of PME from all lenses – programme, financial and governance by providing guidelines and direction to the programme managers.
- Review all reports generated and provide value addition and track PME process and follow the agreed CRY PME process.
- Liaise with government stakeholders and help evolve stakeholder strategies for the network of partners in the state.
- Provide technical support to partners for engagement with the external stakeholders and lead the engagement process with protection specific stakeholders.
- Deep – dive into the data generated by the M&E manager and derive trends and analysis for strategic discussions and decisions about the partners and projects.
- Lead the annual planning process incl. budgets of all partners in the state in the annual partners meeting.
- Identify challenges and risks in the programme and provide solutions to mitigate and overcome the same.
- Report and bring in learning and insights to the CRY leadership teams for programme strengthening and stock taking.
- Identify and design CB frameworks with the CB Manager and assess effectiveness of the sessions for the partners and the programme.
- Ensure regular coordination with CRY regional office, BAT and ensuring smooth implementation of the work and submission of all legal compliances documents/.reports.
- Responsible for all reporting to BAT and to ensure timeliness and quality of the same.
- Review all IEC materials/products/ communication products developed by the partner organization & provide necessary value add.
- Share updated Govt policy/acts/laws/schemes/scholarly article/research documents related documents to the partner to strengthen body of knowledge.
- Examine aspects related to the Governance structure in the organisation. (Board/second line leadership/review processes etc).
- Provide insights and recommendations which can be discussed internally by the partner organisation’s leadership and implemented if they are seized of the merits of the suggestions.
You:
You must be a Post – Graduate in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology or Rural Development from a reputed institute. You must have 8 – 10 years’ experience of working in a child rights based organisation or from organisations engaged in issues of social justice in a rights based framework. The person should have a sound foundational understanding, passion and disposition towards working for marginalized children, especially in the areas of education and protection – and any experience in this regard shall be useful. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
