Job Opportunity for Consultant/Senior Consultant at Vasudha Foundation in Bhopal

Project Brief

Madhya Pradesh (MP) has had an active EV policy since 2019 and yet has achieved less than 11,000 EV sales in the country as per the Vahan Dashboard. Further, the absence of reliable data from this portal on MP has rendered no baseline assessment for the State’s performance concerning electric mobility adoption. As mentioned in the MP EV Policy, the State aims to achieve 25 percent of all new public transport vehicles registered in the State to be EVs. Bridging this significant gap in the implementation, and realization of the EV policy goals is thus the need of the hour. In this context, the project intends to assess the key conditions for electric mobility technology development and deployment in MP, and the actions necessary to improve electric mobility efforts in the State.

Purpose of the Role

• Support Vasudha Foundation’s work in Madhya Pradesh that includes but is not limited to research and analysis of policies and regulatory issues in the electric mobility sector.
• Coordinate with the State nodal agency and function as Vasudha Foundation’s point person in implementing the project based in Bhopal.

Research and Writing

• Understand and keep tabs on electric mobility-related regulations and State-level EV policies
• Analyse large and high-frequency datasets to draw useful insights for the team and other stakeholders
• Assist in the stakeholder engagement strategy, identifying and prioritizing key external stakeholders like government representatives, NGOs, consumer associations, knowledge partners, etc.
• Generate knowledge content through blogs and policy briefs and prepare presentations, fact sheets, and other research communication material
• Undertake Intra-State travel to conduct interviews, collect data, and other engagements as required by the project.

Networking

• Establishing and maintaining relationships with key project stakeholders including Government
• Departments/ Ministries/Agencies, local administration, CSOs, NGOs, and academia as per project requirements
• Regular interaction with key stakeholders (including community) directly or indirectly for data collection

Meetings & Conferences

• Coordinating with team and stakeholders to organize meetings and conferences as per project requirement.
• Participate, and create meeting briefs, press releases etc.
• Provide support in stakeholder engagement through field visits, community engagement, and focus group discussions

Applicant Profile

Minimum requirement: BTech /Masters in Economics/Finance/Energy with at least 2 years’ experience (5 years for Senior Consultant) in the energy/electric vehicles/sustainable development domain

• Candidate must be able to work well in a team and have good communication skills
• Candidate must have good analytical skills and data handling capability, Good analytical skills for conducting techno-economic analysis

Remuneration

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
