**Project Overview:**

 

PCI India, in partnership with UNICEF, is implementing a project in 21 districts of Uttar Pradesh to improve childhood immunization coverage, focusing on reducing the number of zero-dose children.  This project aims to achieve 100% identification and mapping of zero-dose children, train 80% of community influencers, ensure 90% caregiver attendance at mobilization activities, and orient 80% of frontline workers on communication and counseling skills by December 31, 2026.

 

 

**About the Role:**

 

The CSO Coordinator will support the implementation of project activities in the assigned districts.  Responsibilities include guiding and supporting a team of Cluster Coordinators (CCs), participating in stakeholder meetings, capacity building of frontline workers and community influencers, and managing project data.  The Coordinator will be responsible for 1-3 districts, based on government/UNICEF data.

 

 

**Major Tasks/Duties:**

 

* Support CCs in social mapping and identification of zero-dose children.

* Support CCs in planning and executing social mobilization activities.

* Liaise and coordinate with government officials and other departments.

* Engage community influencers to reduce zero-dose children.

* Engage ICRPs to promote routine immunization.

* Strengthen community-based networks.

* Provide feedback to stakeholders on social mobilization efficacy.

* Identify and engage forums to increase male participation.

* Support the development and monitoring of the district social mobilization plan.

* Ensure routine immunization services cover zero-dose children.

* Strengthen CCs’ programmatic guidance and conduct capacity building activities.

* Facilitate sessions on effective IPC tools.

* Compile, analyze, and report project data.

* Share qualitative feedback with SMNet colleagues.

* Review field expenses.

* Document success stories and best practices.

* Support partners/donors in disseminating project learning.

* Ensure steady supply and proper use of immunization tracking booklets.

* Ensure timely development of due lists and distribution of invitation slips.

* Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to the Project Coordinator.

 

 

**Skills and Qualifications:**

 

* Graduate or postgraduate degree in social work, social science, or public health.

* Minimum 3 years of field-level experience in routine immunization or public health.

* Excellent communication skills in Hindi and a regional language, with basic English proficiency.

* Proficiency in MS Office and experience with mobile-based healthcare applications and MIS.

* Familiarity with local health and non-health actors.

 

**Preferred Skills:**

 

* Experience in vaccine promotion and disease prevention projects.

* Knowledge of public health principles and practices.

* Ability to speak local dialects.

* Problem-solving and adaptability skills.

* Owning a two-wheeler and possessing a valid driving license.
