JOB TITLE: Data & Impact Lead / Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Consultant

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The main purpose of this role is to lead on ensuring the quality and accountability of our work. The MEAL & Impact Lead will bring significant experience and fresh ideas to lead on MEAL system implementation, review and evaluations, MEAL budgeting, as well as support publishing research papers for advocacy purposes.

The person will ensure that all Kshamtalaya and Partner projects are supported to ensure quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of their programmes. It will be important for the person to capture lessons learned and communicate this information in various capacities to improve on-going and future programming. S/he will guide Kshamtalaya and Partner teams to maintain an effective monitoring system across all programs, usage of data to assure the quality of interventions.

The MEAL & Impact Lead will lead on building capacity of staff and partners on MEAL but particularly on accountability, participation and support, with focus on achieving program vision. Ultimately, s/he will ensure that the programme has evidence-based knowledge to inform the direction of the programme from assessment and regular programme monitoring documents.

Special attention should be paid to the positive and negative impact that interventions have in communities. This analysis will need to be made available to all kshamtalaya staff and external stakeholders where appropriate.

Program & System Design :

Lead on the development and oversee the design and implementation of organizational MEAL system for all of Kshamtalaya’s projects ensuring accountability and Impact process to partners and stakeholders.

  • Developing an integrated data management and analysis system for all projects
  • Build strong relationships with all team members and provide appropriate support as required to ensure the MEAL system is understood and implemented efficiently at field intervention.
  • Work closely with the programme teams to ensure that MEAL becomes an integral element of the programme design stage and features in all proposal development, project implementation leading to enhanced quality and accountability.
  • Build the Capacity building of field teams around MEAL, Data literacy and process towards creating the data driven decision making towards Impact.

Data Analytics & Organization development

  • Understand data and performance measures and drive end to end ownership of respective related analytics
  • Responsible for leading and maintaining the Org level Dashboard & collate the Reports with regard to People related data.
  • Partner with teams to identify and produce People reports & dashboards for communicating analytics and insights.
  • Proactively lookout for relevant data from varied sources, use analytical tools and techniques to build and derive insights for Individuals & Teams across all programs
  • Analyze the relevant data to obtain insights, communicate how these insights impact the organization and create a case & process for interventions.
  • Responsible for data integrity and quality assurance of all data.
  • Conducts regular checks of the data to ensure accuracy and communicate changes as required
  • Assist in the implementation of the People Team’s analytics efforts and processes to ensure analytics approach is aligned with the current need.
  • Support the team on need basis as and when required

Skills & experience

  • Ability to see and think in systems while analyzing and solving problems.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Should be able to work independently with minimum guidance.
  • Proficiency in both Hindi and English will be given preference.
  • Experience and expertise with Data tools like Commcare,SAS, Tableau, Excel, R, and Python would be an added advantage.
  • Skills in implementation of quantitative and qualitative surveys including data collection, training, supervision and visualization
  • Competence on tools for collection, data management and statistical analysis (Stata), ODK and Microsoft Excel
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in education work, preferably in rural /tribal India.
  • Prior experience in leading MEAL & Impact in the development space.
  • Prior experience in doing primary or secondary research.
  • Track record of independently leading a successful project or team delivering educational programs or working with schools/teachers will be an added advantage.
