## Job Description: Deputy Manager – Community Impact (Environment)

**Job Overview:**

 

The Deputy Manager – Community Impact (Environment) will be responsible for assisting the program manager in coordinating and implementing all environment-related projects, with a special focus on pollution management related projects. This includes projects like Mission Mangroves, Clean Shores, and initiatives promoting waste management and cleanliness.

 

**Job Responsibilities:**

 

* Design, innovate, facilitate, and execute environment projects, campaigns, and corporate employee engagement activities.

* Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, community groups, corporates, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders for mass awareness events and volunteer mobilization.

* Manage partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies (e.g., municipal corporations, pollution control boards, forest departments), academic institutions, NGOs, and citizens’ groups.

* Develop and adopt a Monitoring and Evaluation framework for the projects.

* Conduct continuous research on issues addressed by United Way Mumbai and provide relevant inputs for project development, conceptualization, and execution.

* Develop suitable IEC materials to complement project themes, including pollution management, waste management practices, water body pollution management, and air pollution management.

* Write reports, presentations, mailers, advisories, donor reports, social media posts, awareness collaterals, concept notes, and proposals.

* Manage, train, and mentor project teams.

* Oversee the planning, execution, and documentation of environmental project activities, ensuring timely and effective completion. Manage budgeting, financial reconciliation, and reporting of project activities.

* Conduct extensive field work in the outskirts of Mumbai and other project locations across India for monitoring visits, project execution, etc.

* Represent the organization at external meetings, workshops, and conferences related to pollution management.

* Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and international best practices in pollution management.

 

**Profile Requisites:**

 

* Postgraduate degree in Environment Science/Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Studies, Environmental Policy or Management, Natural Resource Management, or any other equivalent degree. Candidates with prior experience in the Pollution/waste management sector are preferred.

* At least 5 to 6 years of experience in managing and executing projects in the field of environment.

* A dynamic and versatile individual who can easily connect and effectively work with internal and external stakeholders.

* Good knowledge of various environmental issues and related interventions.

* Excellent MS Office skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Adequate knowledge and understanding of Pollution/waste management and the ability to provide relevant inputs for project execution.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Proficiency in English and Hindi (fluency in Marathi is an added advantage).

* Must be a team player and willing to travel in and around Mumbai and other project locations across India for implementing program activities.

* Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

* Ability to accomplish time-constrained assignments.

* Adaptability and the ability to work in dynamic, challenging environments.

* Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

 

**Remuneration:**

 

Subject to relevant qualification, experience, and merit, the salary range is 8 to 12 LPA.
