Purpose and Scope of Position

Business Development lead role is responsible for diverse tasks crucial to the promotion and management of apprenticeship programs, key responsibilities will include following up with establishments and persuading them to register on the apprenticeship portal, thereby increasing participation in the apprenticeship program. Shall be responsible to manager the team and strategise on daily operations and allocate work to the team. Actively engage in capacity building for stakeholders, conducting training sessions, and demonstrating portal functionalities to enhance their understanding and utilization of the platforms. Will play a vital role in fostering successful partnerships and expanding the reach of the apprenticeship.

Detailed Scope of Work

1. Strategy: Planning and strategizing the work undertaken by the Division.

2. Ability to generate new leads for expansion of apprenticeship in India, converting leads into clients and supporting the entire apprenticeship lifecycle.

3. Ability to work towards set targets and develop robust tracking mechanisms against the targets. 4. Deep insights into policy and process simplifications that will help increase the update of apprenticeship in India.

5. Identification of new, innovative, and relevant practices across skill development and vocational education space.

6. Working effectively with all stakeholders including but not limited to Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Sector Skill Councils, Third Party Aggregators/ NSDC Partners (Affiliates), Establishments, DGT, Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, State Skill Development Missions, IT team etc.

7. Inter departmental coordination within NSDC, State coordination with State Engagement Officers.

8. Closely work with the Industry Cluster Project Team in coordination with the State Team at NSDC, including State Engagement Officers (SEOs) to achieve the project deliverables.

9. To be well versed with all offerings provided by NSDC, especially Apprenticeship and Jobs opportunities.

10. Networking with State and Central Government and ensuring timely scheme/ project delivery. 2 11. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge database and repository of best practices in the field of demand led skill training/ vocational education/ apprenticeship/ Employment and employability. 12. Target setting for Third Party Aggregators/ Staffing agencies for apprenticeship and jobs opportunities

13. Capacity building and training of Third Party Aggregators/ Staffing agencies on various modules

14. Performance evaluation of Third Party Aggregators/ Staffing agencies on the targets

15. Handling and coordinating with different stakeholders remotely during COVID-19 and flexible to work from home in completing deliverables.

16. Skilled in documentation and handling stakeholder management for effective implementation through convergence.

17. Having an in-depth understanding of the Apprenticeship Portal, processes, workflows, functionalities and interactions within modules.

18. To undertake Portal Demonstration for various stakeholders to make the stakeholder understand the different modules, process flow and functionality of the Apprenticeship Portal.

19. To handle grievances of stakeholders pertaining to Apprenticeship Training in general and Apprenticeship Portal in particular.

20. To undertake any other duties assigned by NSDC.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Public Policy/ Management or related field is highly desirable.

Experience required:

12-16 years of relevant experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an authentic, warm and professional approach.
  • Ability to communicate a compelling case for support.
  • Good networking and Communication skills.
  • A self-starter with ability and drive to take new initiatives.
  • Fluency in speaking English and Hindi is required.
  • Any vernacular language is desired.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident to undertake public speaking and ability to adjust to presenting in formal (representing NSDC in Government meetings) and informal settings.
  • Open to travel.
  • Integrity, strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Proactive, highly motivated and results driven.
