Roles and responsibilities:
TCF Network orgs’ began their journey a decade ago with CSF, gradually taking small steps towards establishing credibility for both its value proposition and effectively communicating their stories for both existing and emerging organisations. Today, many organisations have demonstrated proof of concept and are starting to scale up, with annual budgets ranging from INR 20-50+ crore. Funding is ultimately the bedrock of social sector organisations, without which scale and impact wouldn’t be possible. This is a critical role that could unlock rapid growth in the journey of every organisation in the portfolio.
This role entails articulating and selling the TCF and TCF Network orgs’ vision and project to large-scale institutions (CSR) and high networth individuals for financial support. This would include Indian business houses/conglomerates, Indian owner promoter-led enterprises, MNCs, and other high-growth institutions. The key outcome of the role is raising financial commitments to build TCF Network orgs.
This being said, the person in this role should ideally have an affinity for the social sector or be willing to develop it. He/she will be responsible for setting and achieving independent fundraising targets for TCF and the TCF network (jointly agreed upon with the TCF CEO) and must develop a comprehensive strategy to execute on this.
Finally, apart from supporting the team during pitches, the ideal candidate should have the capability to independently pitch and represent TCF in networking spheres. Being well connected within the ecosystem is a big plus.
Key responsibilities include:
Fundraising:
- Presenting TCF and its Network orgs to a wide range of institutions to build CSR & HNI engagement
- Generate leads, engage with prospects and convert them to donors
- Identify who to leverage as influencers & door-openers
- Craft high quality proposals and align the financial needs of the Network orgs to the giving objectives of donors. This would be across existing and new CSR and HNI donors and their mandate preferences.
- Finalising and closing deals – including the necessary documentation – MoU, Pledge letters,etc.
- Work closely with CEOs to determine offerings to potential donors
Donor Management:
- Manage relationships in multiple geographies
- Proactively manage relationships with prospects, existing donors, and internal stakeholders
- Manage and coordinate access to internal resources towards prospect/ donor engagement and relationship management
- Timely follow ups and ongoing communication with extensive field visits to ensure we have the necessary resources to share with them
- Invest in relationships irrespective of financial contribution, maintaining a long-term view
- Prospect engagement (comms) and share updates proactively
Governance
- Liaise with leadership (Founders, CEOs/MDs, and CFO) to support the organisation’s cash flow and financial sustainability through realistic fundraising targets and coordinating timely access to funds from donors
- Work closely with other departments like – Strategic Communications, Network org CEOs, TCF Operating Partners, TCF CEO, the Fundraising advisory council, and other champions/advisors of TCF
- Play a crucial role in shaping the future growth of the foundation, through input into the organisational strategic plan
The ideal candidate:
- has a Masters from a reputed institution in a relevant field including business, public policy, education, or a related field.
- has experience spanning 15 to 20 years in a professional service environment, with a strong emphasis on exceptional client relationship management and service delivery.
- is an extremely articulate and confident speaker with high-quality English language skills (verbal and written).
