Magic Bus is looking for someone with high energy and passion for our mission. Someone having outstanding communication skills: an attentive listener, articulate speaker, and clear and persuasive writer – a people’s person, with an ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.

An individual with considerable wisdom and knowledge on development issues, preferably in the broad area of poverty alleviation, having at least 7 years of leadership experience in the international development sector.

A self-motivated, confident and influential style that is coupled with sensitivity and flexibility. A strong leader with high emotional intelligence and professional standards with experience and ability to communicate effectively in front of significant audiences.

The individual will need to work with the board and senior team and help construct and execute the organization strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Execute short term, medium term and long-term Fundraising strategies through partnerships with HNI’s, domestic and international donors
  • Manage end-to-end fundraising cycle with each prospective donor: identifying high-value, prospective donors, initiating leads, calls and meetings, making presentations, writing proposals and closing agreements. Lead client meetings and provide follow-up support.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders (Founder, CEO, and Board members), and across functions and also work independently with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with the operations and Impact teams to draft proposals, applications, reports, and updates for current and prospective donors
  • Conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets.
  • Maintenance of the database of all donors, including potential donors, HNI donors, ambassadors etc. Develop and maintain a media contact list
  • Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit  donations or sponsorships. 

Donor acquisition

  • Acquisition of new significant donors with a giving capacity of over INR 20 lakhs and cultivate a deeper relationship with them:
  • Set fund raising priorities, goals and budget and quarterly action plans for new donor acquisitions.
  • Acquisition of HNI donors through events, digital platforms etc.
  • Reaching out to potential partners/Board members for HNI acquisition.
  • Development of communication material for acquisition
  • Provide leadership and management support to implement the fundraising plan and develop relationships with donors. 

Donor relationship building and retention (Cultivating donor relations)

  • Develop and execute robust relationship programme for High net-worth donors – including communication updates, events, meetings and other donor engagement activities
  • Cultivate donor relationships with an aim to have them graduate to higher amounts of giving, maximizing their giving capacity.
  • Communicate fundraising programme data to donors/ organizations.
  • Handling of donor queries/ grievances.

 Role Specification

  • Must have handled HNI relationship profile earlier
  • Must have excellent people management skills and grace under fire
  • Must have the desired decorum while dealing with HNIs
  • Must be able to play the role of a Key account manager for HNIs
  • The ability to deliver powerful and impactful presentations. A good story teller.
  • Excellent communications ( written and spoken) skills
  • Hands on experience on leveraging technology for fundraising
  • Experience of 15 plus years in HNI sales or Corporate sales
