Founded in 2021 by Ashish and Manisha Dhawan, TCF builds upon their history of impactful philanthropy, including the establishment of Ashoka University and the Central Square Foundation.  TCF’s mission is to transform Indian lives through rapid, inclusive, and sustained economic growth, focusing on seven key program areas impacting job creation, human capital development (education and skilling), and strengthening government capacity.  TCF works by building pioneering institutions and shaping the broader ecosystem, sharing knowledge with philanthropists, governments, and stakeholders.  The foundation believes government is crucial for systemic change, with philanthropy strategically supporting governmental efforts. The TCF Network comprises over 16 organizations addressing various socio-economic development areas.

 

**Position Summary:**

 

By 2030, TCF aims for a strong national presence and partnerships with at least six major Indian states, along with periodic collaborations with six to eight additional states.  This role will lead strategic initiatives to partner with and support national and state governments and key policy stakeholders.  This involves understanding government priorities, promoting TCF/TCF Network work, building credibility through high-quality work, and ensuring effective communication with decision-makers.  Collaboration will be close with portfolio organization CEOs, internal mentors, experts, and external advisors to propose reform initiatives focused on rapid, inclusive, and sustained economic growth.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

*   Develop and implement a policy reform agenda aligned with national priorities, including identifying key reform areas, strategic collaboration opportunities with government bodies, and preparing materials to communicate ideas to decision-makers.

*   Establish and manage small coordination/policy support units (where necessary) to work with high-level government bodies, streamlining TCF and network organization efforts.

*   Develop and manage relationships with key national and state-level decision-makers and influencers, understanding their priorities and sharing insights and research.

*   Cultivate a network of TCF champions (industrialists, former administrators, academics, practitioners, and experts) to advise on TCF’s state-level work.

 

**Ideal Candidate Profile:**

 

**Experience:**  20+ years of experience in government, policy, public affairs, or roles with strong government partnerships, successfully influencing policies and decisions at national and state levels.  Deep understanding of the policy-making process is essential.

 

**Skills:**

 

*   Ability to understand and communicate complex reform ideas related to economic growth, human capital development, and government effectiveness.

*   Exceptional relationship-building skills, establishing credibility with senior government officials and stakeholders.

*   Strong communication and strategic thinking, identifying opportunities and driving impactful outcomes.

*   Analytical skills to analyze complex issues and synthesize actionable insights.
