SOS Children’s Villages of India is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organisation working for the holistic development of parentless children, women and children belonging to vulnerable families. Founded in 1949 in Austria, SOS Children’s Villages began its operations in India in 1964.For over 50 years, we have reached out to over 25,000 children through our 32 SOS Children’s Villages and 32 community projects in India. SOS Children’s Villages of India was established in 1964 at Faridabad near Delhi. SOS India has worked with children, communities, disaster struck and disaster-prone areas, giving hope to weary communities and families. SOS India is the largest operation within the SOS International Federation of 134 countries.

Areas of Responsibility –

Policy & Program:

1. Research: CRSA, settled youth and impact studies of our programs

2. Framing Policy guidelines for strengthening the Programs and timely review of existing policies

3.Conducting studies for understanding the situation of children in SOS CVs post pandemic

4. Developing SOP’s for program implementation

5. Developing documents for capturing program outcomes

6. Aligning International organisational policies with National policies

7. Developing proposals for Federation funding

8. Monitoring and evaluation of programs

Advocacy

1. Networking with like-minded organisations for realizing Rights of Children in our target group

2. Partnership for Joint Advocacy through Joining Forces initiatives

3. Zonal/State level advocacy with external stakeholders(CWC/DCPO/Govt. dept.)

4. Organizing seminars on children issues in partnership with CSO/Govt.

5. Publication of Research and Analysis report of organisational best practices

6. Participation at National and International CSO networks, forums and campaigns

7. Campaign for conveying voices of children in our target group to policy makers

8. Documenting Advocacy initiatives for organisational learning

9. Youth Coalition (14-18yrs) at National level: Listening to youth(Building leadership and ownership capacities of youths

10.Influencing Policies at National level- NCPCR, MW&CD

11. Sharing latest policies of Govt. of India related to our cause

Qualifications & experience:

  • A holder of Master’s degree in development/social sciences (Sociology,Development studies, International Relations or related field).
  • A thorough understanding of program design and development especially in the sectors of Child Rights, Child Protection, Education, Livelihoods,Gender etc.
  • 10 -15 years of extensive experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors as well as a thorough understanding of development programming.
  • Excellent skills in proposal and report writing
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills with the ability to represent SOS CV India in external partnerships with other NGOs / Government fora
  • Competences in Project Cycle Management and the use of Logical Framework Approach (LFA)
  • Ability to work under pressure and to plan and work systematically towards deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
