About the Classroom Instruction and Practice team (CIP)
CSF has adopted a system reform approach where we partner with State governments to design and scale high-quality foundational learning programs. Our focus is on improving the existing state programs and to this end, the CIP team works on raising the quality of tools, training, and support available for teachers and academic support personnel implementing foundational learning in the classroom. We do this by collaborating with our program partners in states in improving their programs, curating and designing research-backed exemplar public goods, and generating evidence on different aspects in early learning through action research.
Position Summary
The District Consultant will be positioned in tier 2/3 cities of our focus states and will work closely with the Project Manager from the Central team. S/he will largely be on the ground conducting research on classroom practices and mentoring by observing parameters within the classroom, government level meetings, conducting desk analysis and so on. The role will require them to build meaningful relationships with our key stakeholders like the schools leaders, teachers, our technical partners and government officials in these states to ensure proper implementation of our existing state programs.
Roles and responsibilities
The District Consultant will have the following key responsibilities, but not limited to:
On-ground research/Monitoring and data collection:
● Conduct regular school visits and collect data by observing the pre-decided parameters for our FLN program.
● Collect and collate both quantitative and qualitative data regarding adherence to protocol and teacher/student performance and challenges from the ground and other sources using our tools.
● Conducting first-level analysis of the collected data, generating insights and sharing it with the team.
● Documentation and communication of qualitative on-ground learnings and sharing insights with the team.
● Identify operational bottlenecks, wherever applicable and suggest solutions to Central team
● Assist the Central team in planning and delivery of monthly review meetings, including documentation and data provision for the same.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
● A Bachelor’s degree or above, in any discipline
● At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience in action research and on-ground program implementation
● Demonstrates exemplary attention to detail
● Understands qualitative and quantitative research
● Prior experience in working with the government and teacher training is preferred
● Fluency in Hindi (spoken, written and reading) and basic communication in English
