About Project:

Manzil is a 5-year project that aims to increase retention of girls in school and increase the number of girls transitioning from school and skills training to work. In The project will adopt a focused and market driven approach for vocational training and skill development for in- school and out-of-school girls in the age group of 14-21 years.

Job Description: The District Coordinator will be responsible for implementing overall project activities in the designated area. S/he will ensure performance, progress and targets. The position will involve extensive travel within the district with occasional travel outside the district. In specific the role would entail:
 
(1)Project Management:

•Manage all partnerships with government and non-government stakeholders in the region (local authorities, industries, community etc.)

•Liaison with Government departments at district level and with the District Collector’s office to report on project and solicit necessary support

•Ensure project targets with regard to enrollments and placements are being achieved.

•Manage team for performance and targets

•Support project operations and implementation on a day to day basis at the regional level

•Undertake regular field visits to monitor activities and performance of field staff

(2)Monitoring and Quality control:

•Ensure data collection and quality control.

•Draft and submit monthly and quarterly reports on project performance.

•Ensure regular review at district level of the project and feedback.

(3)Strategic Planning and Implementation:

•Work with the district team in developing the district action plan for implementation of project activities

•Build partnerships with local industries for placement of girls for internships and

•Course correct and problem solve for effective project implementation as required

•Plan and implement campaigns around vocational skills and jobs

•Capture lessons learned, document and support writing of success stories, and case studies

Qualification & Experience and Essential Skills:

•Post Graduate qualification in Rural Management/Social Sciences/ Humanities, preferably from IRMA, TISS, XIM, XISS

•At least 5-8 years of work experience with implementing development projects, preferably in Rajasthan

•Proven track record of managing field teams and projects

•Good knowledge and handling of project planning and implementation

•Proven ability to work closely with district administration and external stakeholders

•Ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure

•Good IT and analytical skills in MS Office and Excel

•Good command of the English and Hindi language, both written and oral.

•Must be able to travel frequently to rural areas and oversee the program implementation at sub-district level;
 
Desirable Skills:

•Networks with local industries

•Knowledge of education and/or skill sector and managing government projects is an advantage.
