**About India Climate Leaders (ICL):** The ICL program empowers and cultivates climate leaders among high-net-worth individuals in India, directing funds towards climate priorities aligned with India’s development goals and mitigation targets. The ICC acts as an advisor to ICL members, facilitating the flow of funds directly from philanthropists to climate solutions and organizations.
**Job Location:** Delhi, India (with potential for Mumbai-based work)
**Job Summary:**
The Donor Relationship Manager is a crucial member of the ICL team, responsible for guiding and advising high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) on climate philanthropy. This role involves proactively engaging new donors, developing strategies to support their giving, and working closely with the climate intelligence team to direct funding towards impactful climate solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about climate action and possesses expertise in fundraising, HNI advisory, and building authentic relationships with philanthropists.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop strategies to engage new donors, evaluating networks and options to highlight the importance of climate philanthropy.
* Collaborate on content and strategy for philanthropy-focused events to attract new donors.
* Design and implement comprehensive donor plans, tailoring engagement strategies to individual donor interests and preferences.
* Conduct thorough research to understand potential donors’ priorities and giving styles.
* Partner with the climate intelligence team to source suitable philanthropic opportunities.
* Develop engagement materials (presentations, proposals, etc.).
* Support philanthropists throughout their giving journey, from initial gifts to scaled giving.
* Coordinate and track activities, commitments, and reports using the ICC’s database (Salesforce).
* Contribute to the ICC’s knowledge management system.
* Maintain relationships with key donor and partner NGO networks.
* Collaborate on annual strategy setting to meet yearly and five-year goals.
**Skills and Experience:**
* 7+ years of experience in non-profit, climate consulting, policy research, or field-based organizations.
* Proven expertise in principal development or donor advising.
* Success in cultivating and stewarding eight-figure gifts from HNWIs, particularly ultra-high-net-worth donors.
* Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with strong convening capabilities.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to translate priorities into action.
* Experience with CRM systems (a plus).
* Prior climate experience (a plus).
