**Job Title:** Donor Relationship Manager
**Location:** Delhi / Mumbai
**About the Company:**
The India Climate Collaborative (ICC) was established in 2020 to coordinate and support Indian philanthropists in scaling corporate and family philanthropy for climate impact. ICC unlocks philanthropic capital, identifies catalytic climate priorities, and creates connective infrastructure. Founded by prominent leaders like Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Nadir Godrej, ICC focuses on building a cohort of visionary climate philanthropists (India Climate Leaders), scaling community-led climate solutions, pooling grant funds for system change, and enabling cross-sectoral investments to accelerate climate action.
**Experience Required:**
– 7+ years of relevant work experience in non-profit, climate consulting, policy research, or field-based/implementation organizations.
– Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding eight-figure gifts from philanthropists, especially ultra-high-net-worth donors.
– Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with convening capabilities.
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
– Strategic mindset and prior experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Develop strategies to engage new donors for funding climate solutions, including identifying networks and options for high-net-worth individuals to recognize the importance of climate action.
2. Work cross-functionally to develop content and strategy for philanthropy-focused events and experiences to attract new donors.
3. Design and implement donor plans for cultivating philanthropic learning and action on climate.
4. Conduct comprehensive research on potential donors, aligning engagement strategies with their interests and preferences.
5. Partner with colleagues in climate intelligence to source ideas for philanthropists, such as giving in specific regions or to integrated climate issues.
6. Develop and manage materials to support donor engagement, including tailored tools, presentations, proposals, and portfolio materials.
7. Support philanthropists through a process from their first gift to scaled giving, including designing learning sessions, connecting to peer ambassadors, and helping determine criteria for giving.
8. Coordinate and track activities using ICC’s donor engagement database (Salesforce) and contribute to knowledge management systems.
9. Maintain professional relationships with key donor and partner NGO networks, mobilizing them to identify new donors and scale their giving.
10. Collaborate with the ICL team to set annual strategies and iterate based on learnings.
