**About the Company:**
The India Climate Collaborative (ICC) was established in 2020 to coordinate and support Indian philanthropists in scaling corporate and family philanthropy for climate impact. ICC unlocks philanthropic capital, identifies catalytic climate priorities, and creates connective infrastructure. Founded by prominent leaders like Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Nadir Godrej, ICC focuses on building a cohort of visionary climate philanthropists (India Climate Leaders), scaling corporate philanthropy for community-led climate solutions, pooling grant funds for system climate action, and enabling cross-sectoral investments to accelerate climate action.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Develop strategies to engage new donors for funding climate solutions, including evaluating networks and options for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) to recognize the importance of climate and begin giving.
– Work cross-functionally to develop content and strategy for philanthropy-focused events and experiences to attract new donors.
– Design and implement creative donor plans for cultivating philanthropic learning and action on climate.
– Conduct comprehensive research on potential donors, including their priorities, giving styles, and interests, to align engagement strategies effectively.
– Partner with colleagues in climate intelligence to source ideas for philanthropists, such as region-specific or integrated climate issues like food systems.
– Develop and manage materials to support donor engagement, including tailored tools, presentations, proposals, and portfolio materials.
– Support philanthropists through a process from their first gift to scaled giving, including designing learning sessions, creating portfolios, connecting to peer ambassadors, and determining criteria.
– Coordinate and track activities, commitments, and reports using ICC’s donor engagement database (Salesforce).
– Maintain professional relationships with key donor and partner NGO networks, mobilizing them to identify new donors and scale their giving.
– Collaborate with the ICL team to set annual strategies and iterate based on learnings.
**Skills and Experience:**
– 7+ years of relevant work experience in non-profit, climate consulting, policy research, or field-based/implementation organizations.
– Expertise in principal development, donor advising, and proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding eight-figure gifts from ultra-HNWIs.
– Proven track record of exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with convening capabilities.
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a persuasive and attentive approach.
– Strategic mindset with the ability to translate priorities into operational reality.
– Prior experience with CRM systems and climate experience are pluses.
