**Job Summary:**
CBPS seeks a skilled Economist to contribute to quantitative and/or qualitative research. The specific title (Senior Research Advisor, Research Advisor, or Senior Research Associate) will depend on experience.
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead or participate in research projects, contributing to economic analysis.
* Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert in economics. Stay current on research, best practices, and policies, integrating them into research.
* Contribute to the conception and execution of interdisciplinary research and capacity-building projects.
* Collaborate and network with other organizations for research and advocacy.
* Develop fundraising proposals and communicate effectively with funders and partners.
* Identify capacity-building needs for researchers and develop/deliver training.
* Contribute to organizational policy development and administration.
**Qualifications:**
* **Senior Research Associate:** Master’s degree in Economics (or related field like Development Economics, Financial Economics, Economics and Public Policy, Agricultural Economics, or Applied Economics) and 5+ years of post-Master’s work experience.
* **Research Advisor/Senior Research Advisor:** PhD in Economics (or related field) or 7-10+ years of experience in economic research.
* Knowledge and understanding of economics and economic analysis.
* Strong understanding of research methods.
* Proficiency in data analysis software (STATA, R preferred).
* Familiarity with large datasets (NSSO, NFHS, MoSPI, etc.).
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
* Proficiency in MS Excel (handling large datasets).
* Excellent English proficiency; proficiency in two regional languages preferred.
* Excellent management and organizational skills.
