ABOUT YOU
Dalberg’s commitment to social impact means being passionate about consistently creating high quality knowledge products for clients and as public good. We are seeking a Copy Editor for Dalberg Advisors as a dedicated specialist in the Asia Communications team to keep these important conversations going.
The role will involve creating and editing varied forms of content in the social impact space, both on and off projects as we aim to lead, influence and be part of the larger public discourse.
As Editor, you will work closely with the Communications and project teams, and will report to the Head of Communications, Dalberg Asia
Qualifications
- A highly skilled editor and writer with at least 3-4 years of experience in editing (and creating) documents across a range of different formats including reports, whitepapers, presentations, blogs, press releases
- Editing experience in industries such as journalism, media, or corporate communications.
- Experience in a consulting firm or an impact sector firm will be highly preferred.
- A natural storyteller, and good at raising the quality of content in a manner that is mission aligned, simple, and jargon-free.
- Deadline oriented and are able to turn around high-quality edited pieces on short timelines
- Ability to thrive in a high performing people-friendly culture and are a team player
- Some experience in social media copy, or creating multimedia outputs such as podcasts or short videos is desirable though not mandatory
- Management and delivery of work: With some initial guidance, ability to own and execute functional area processes and specific initiatives with minimal oversight including identifying relevant steps to complete initiatives for yourself and others.
- Motivated deeply by questions of social impact and by the mission of Dalberg
- Note: Employment in all the Dalberg offices is conditional on the candidate having or obtaining the requisite authorization to live and work in that country.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborating with project teams as line editor to edit project deliverables such as reports, slide decks, BD pitches, taking care of structuring, language, and grammar issues and ensuring crisp writing meant for consumption by senior stakeholders
- Occasionally, creating easy to read articles and blog posts linked to longer reports and presentations by Dalberg consulting teams.
- Involvement in firm building and training initiatives that help teams achieve high-quality on-brand communications
- Collaboration with the global communications team on social media efforts
- Bringing in fresh perspectives on how we can do better and generate ideas for new approaches and content types
