About the Schools Program
Quest Alliance has worked in the secondary school for the past few years. The program was initiated in 2015 with 4 schools. It scaled to 10 states in 2019. Now the program is shifting to sustainability and deepening the learning through scale & depth strategies. The key thematic areas are life skills, gender, digital literacy, coding (basic and advanced levels), and career development. Technology is a key aspect of the program.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced person with prior experience in planning and execution of the technical support from assessment to deployment stage of the IT infrastructure and related peripherals. Your role will blend technical skills, content development and facilitation skills. You will be key to supporting the innovation thought process and contributing to building the ed-tech strategy for the program as a whole.
As an Education-Technology Associate, you will be part of all the technology-related activities within the programme. The role of the Technology Associate is going to be critical in areas such as:
- Deployment and refurbishment of the Technology infrastructure in the schools where the programme is being implemented.
- Development, deployment, maintenance and data tracking and analysis of the MasterCoach for Teachers, WhatsApp ChatBot and other digital courses.
- Supporting School Coaches in being able to deliver coding sessions, bootcamps, Computational Thinking related events.
- Be part of the core team of Hackathons (and all allied events) and help in delivering the same at the level of facilitators, teams and states.
KRA 1: Timely delivery of tasks while exhibiting hands-on knowledge of job
- Master Coach for teachers and Student facing digital content on QUESTApp (Learning App)
- Troubleshooting Technical issues related to QUESTApp/MCT platform, hardware,and networking at the site.
- Following SOP to register/modify/de-register users on QUESTApp with required privileges for different categories of users – Organization, School, batch, facilitator/teacher, and student/learner management
- Support pilot testing and implementation in the AP & TS region
- Working closely with internal and external parties along with the team to build capacity on QUESTApp/MCT platform features and management
- Chatbot Management & Support
- New content upload
- Maintenance of teacher/student-facing chatbot
- Bug reporting and resolution
- Ensure data stream pipeline readiness as per the agreed MnE framework, which can then be ported for ETL(extract transform and load) and visualization.
STEM Clubs/CT Cubs
- Participation in the design and delivery of school/district/state-level hackathons
- Supporting the selection of partners and material procurement
- Support in conducting Coding/boot Camps across the field locations.
Ed-Tech Strategy
- Contribute to the strategy by collaborating with the state teams and bringing feedback from the field.
- Contribute in building contextual technology innovations around parent, facilitator and virtual volunteer engagement.
Program Support
- Installation and testing of systems in all deployment locations (whether physically or remotely)
- Creating SD cards for Learnpi server and client devices
- Quality check of learnpi, accessories & SD card
- Support in maintaining relationships with vendors / local engineers for maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.
- Address issues that are logged via a ticketing system and ensure resolution within the agreed SLA.
- Preparing installation manuals and guides for the partner stakeholders to install the software or the program in the computer systems of the schools.
- Create a database of vendors for facilitating IT audits, laptop rentals and other IT material provisions.
KRA 2: Reporting
- Build relationships with the school coaches/program associates, HMs and teachers to facilitate smooth functioning of the IT Labs
- Visit schools to support School coaches with IT Labs
- Be part of the planning process for the team to ensure an effective plan and budget is in place and it is adhered to.
KRA 3: Relationship Management – Stakeholders (internal and external)
- Document and share the best practices in the schools for publication in quarterly newsletters, social media and other channels.
- Provide regular written and verbal reports tracking progress against the work plan and implementation schedules
- Use the appropriate M&E tools for reporting on a regular basis
- Ensure all the program report including case studies, photographs, best practices reaches the M&E focal point at the stipulated time
- Support with the documentation of training/ meeting/ event reports
- Support coordination of baseline/ endline and other assessments
- Collect data as needed to help with the compilation of the donor report
- Ensure data is updated in the database
- Support all reporting requirements such as quarter reviews, annual reviews
Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years of work experience, in handling curriculum delivery, content design and IT infrastructure deployment
- Excellent IT skills and Hands-on experience on coding
- Is excited about the opportunity to integrate technology into education and other allied areas
- Prior experience in vendor management and vendor database management.
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Must have – Basic Knowledge of HTML5, CSS and Javascript
- Knowledge of Raspberry Pi board and Raspbian OS Knowledge in MySQL database management
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams
- Good to have – Skills in GNU/Linux (Ubuntu and Debian) server management and experience in using Linux bash commands and Cron job
- Ability to train, build the capacity of, and manage relationships with new people
