About the Role

Quest Alliance has been working in the secondary school for the past few years.The program was initiated in 2015 with 4 schools. It scaled to 10 states in 2019 with the goal to reach out to 200,000 adolescent girls by the end of three years. The program will work with 8 to 10 implementing partners across 1000 government schools.

The program is looking to work with grades VIII to XII over a period of 3 years. The key thematic areas are: lifeskills, gender, digital literacy, coding (basic and advanced levels), career development. Technology is a key aspect of the program.

We are looking for an experienced person who has worked in the area of education technology earlier with a focus on government school systems. The role of the Education Technology Coordinator is going to be critical in supporting the overall Ed-Tech Strategy, facilitation of online courses for the teachers, facilitating chatbots based learning experience for students and managing tech platforms at the school level. Having good command and understanding of working in Ed-Tech programmes will be beneficials.

Managing Master Coach for Teachers and Student facing digital content on QUESTApp (Learning App)

User Management – 

  • Following SOP to register/modify/de-register users on QUESTApp with required privileges for different categories of users – Organization, School, batch, facilitator/teacher, and student/learner management.
  • New content upload and testing: Support regional tech associates in creating test cases & user journeys for their respective pilots and implementations; Organizing and updating content on QUESTApp based on project requirements and for customized intervention.
  • Anchor the bug reporting, support and maintenance system with the aspiration to innovate and automate the system considering integration with the Quest Platform ensuring timely resolution.
  • Anchor the upkeep and correctness of data on the Quest platform, such as content upload,  projects, programs, learners, facilitators etc.

Development and deployment of LearnPi (Raspberry PI) servers

  • Ensuring LearnPi servers are functional across all centers
  • Assembling and installing QUESTApp/Change Leaders/st course on learnpi servers.
  • Supporting partners to install and activate the learnpi servers at learning centers.

Tracking and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.

  • Understanding, tracking, and troubleshooting issues related to QUESTApp/Change leaders Course.
  • To ensure support to regional teams on their tech needs.
  • To ensure zero downtime of QUESTApp/MCT/Change leaders Course at learning centers/mobile app.
  • Guiding Tech Associates on the various Tech related processes and troubleshooting mechanisms.
  • Creating SoP for Tech support for Secondary Schools/Schools.
  • Manage an inventory of all learnpi’s and do regular checks around their functionality
  • Creating and managing data management tools and dashboards for seamless tracking and reporting.

Relationship Management – Stakeholders (Internal and External)

  • Lead the capacity building of team members on tech tools to ensure an equipped team.
  • Be part of State level review from an overall edtech perspective, bringing in learnings from student / teacher facing lens and STEM clubs perspective
  • Supporting QA’s partners/regional teams to assess and fix issues related to hardware and networking.
  • Working closely with the internal core-tech team to learn about new developments, escalate issues, and share feedback related to QUESTApp/MCT/Change leaders Course for continuous improvement of the App.
  • Planning and organizing Capacity building activities for internal and external stakeholders on QUESTApp/MCT/Change leaders Course, hardware, networking, and other tech tools and platforms.

Product related innovations

  • Keep an eye on new ed-tech innovations and ed-tech trends around the world and develop prototypes for testing these ideas, for their larger integration with the Quest App/change leaders/Chatbot/IVRS Platforms
  • Be part of review and evaluation of Quest App roadmap and align to programme/contextual needs.
  • Participate in testing the product in the field along with the user research team to get proper feedback.
  • Review wireframes and UI development with the design partners.
  • Ongoing work on other piloted innovations

Chatbot development and Management

  • New features/development on chatbot
  • Maintain both student /teacher facing chatbot
  • Add a new content stream on Chatbot as per the given flow.
  • Coordination with API service providers
  • Ensure seamless integration with MCT/Change leader’s course and IVRS as per laid down operational process.
  • Ensure data stream pipeline readiness as per agreed MnE framework, which can then be ported for ETL(extract transform and load) and visualization

Education first : Travel to field locations to understand the context realities and base all tech related innovations around the same.

Scratch Toolkit Management

  • Manage the bug reporting system and ensure timely resolution of the issues by working with respective teams.
  • Debug issues with the toolkit and contribute to the development of the same.
  • Ensure proper archiving of the code using a code repository
  • Be part of the Scratch Education collaborative(SEC) workshops and contribute to the the building of the Equity toolkit

Edtech Strategy

  • Co-create strategy for the schools team by collaborating with the Technology Specialist and state teams and bringing feedback from the field.
  • Documenting reflections and insights and suggesting a way forward keeping the different moving pieces together.
