About us

The India Climate Collaborative (ICC), registered as ‘Council of Philanthropies for Climate Action’ (CPCA), is a collective working to identify critical sectors that need investment, drive funding towards climate solutions, and enable private and corporate philanthropy to engage more effectively with climate action. We work closely with the climate ecosystem, including research organisations, implementers, government stakeholders, businesses, and more, as well as engage with our domestic and international donor base to ensure that funding flows towards high-impact climate solutions. We were founded by some of India’s pre-eminent corporate and philanthropic leaders, including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, Nadir Godrej, and others.
Our team is a small, tight‐knit group driven by a shared passion for achieving the ICC’s mission and vision. An ideal addition to our team is a self-starter, always willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. We prefer candidates with a good eye for detail, commitment to a high quality of output, and a team-centric mindset.

Recognising that multiple entry barriers exist both for funders looking to fund climate solutions and non-profits trying to raise funding for their climate work, we are working to build out an online curated Climate Solutions Platform to help funders discover and fund high-impact climate solutions in the Indian non-profit ecosystem. To support the outreach for this platform, we are looking for an engagement associate to socialise the platform through donor engagement and advisory.

This role will report to the Head – Engagement, Strategy, and Operations.

  • Creating innovative engagement strategies to encourage donors to support solutions featured on CSP, including through channels like newsletters, event programming, etc.
  • Providing funders with bespoke support and advisory on using the CSP platform and finding solutions in line with their priorities, including making recommendations and facilitating introductions
  • Scoping and databasing new funders for targeted outreach of the Climate Solutions Platform (CSP)
  • Working closely with the communications team to prepare briefing materials, decks, and resources for funders at all levels of climate awareness
  • Gathering feedback from funders and making recommendations on how to improve the platform
  • Tracking engagements with individual funders and both direct and indirect funding flows through the CSP platform

  • A bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience in a donor-facing role
  • Interest in and understanding of Indian climate and non-profit sectors
  • Effective communication skills (both (both written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing external stakeholders
  • Ability to process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate it in a presentable manner
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, meet tight deadlines, and work independently
  • Good project management skills with an ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines

Location Mumbai, hybrid

Timeline Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, and will be interviewed on a rolling basis. Due to the small capacity of our team, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
