**Experience Required:** 12-15 years of experience in engineering leadership, with a minimum of 15-20 years of overall experience in product and technology disciplines.  Experience in developing scalable technical products for n-tier/e-commerce/Web Services development platforms is required.

**Job Description:**

The Engineering Head, as a member of the executive leadership team, is responsible for the technology platform’s planning and development.  Working closely with the CTO and CPOs, this role will drive technical execution and strategy, aligning it with the organization’s overall goals.  The Engineering Head will build and lead the technology team, executing and delivering on the product roadmap.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* **Strategy, Technology Roadmap, and Execution:** Manage all technology platforms, including strategic planning, development, and support of web, mobile, and AI initiatives. Define the vision for the engineering structure and drive developer productivity. Design test strategies and create test harnesses, data, and tools to increase sprint cycle speed and ensure high-quality results. Identify technology trends and opportunities for organizational growth. Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions in conjunction with the Product Management team.  Maintain a view of the technology ecosystem (especially AI) to determine novel solutions for scale and impact. Work with the CTO to develop an integrated platform architecture. Maintain and align the organization to a defined roadmap. Ensure tangible results through KPIs and metrics. Take feedback from program teams to improve the platform interface. Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with IT service providers. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility.

* **People Management:** Lead and directly manage a team of Software Development Managers, Technical Program Managers, Data Engineers, and a Development Operations team. Create a culture of innovation. Hire and inspire a team to design and develop groundbreaking technologies. Manage a hybrid team of internal FTEs and external developer resources.

**Skills and Experience:**

* Relevant university degree in Engineering/Technology science; an advanced degree is a plus.

* Engineering leadership experience in early-stage, large-scale technology initiatives.

* Deep understanding of Product and Technology disciplines.

* Strong experience in developing apps and digital products for web and mobile.

* Experience in architecture and deployment of scalable web applications, managing large transaction volumes, user interfaces, interconnectivity, and user sharing on a platform.
