**Job Title:** English Trainer – Conversational English

 

**Organization:** Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) (AKRSP(I)), a program of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) working in over 30 countries globally.  AKRSP(I) focuses on agriculture and climate change, work and enterprise, and rural governance in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.

 

**Job Location:** Various locations in Gujarat (Junagadh, Rajkot, Surendra Nagar, Morbi, Surat, Vapi).  Willingness to travel to rural and semi-urban areas is required.

 

**Experience Required:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, Communication, or a related field. Experience teaching rural and semi-urban youth is highly preferred. Exposure to employability skills training is a plus.

 

**Job Responsibilities:**

 

* Conduct engaging and interactive English conversation training sessions.

* Utilize diverse methodologies (role-plays, scenarios, debates, group discussions) to enhance fluency and confidence.

* Develop and implement customized lesson plans for varying proficiency levels.

* Monitor trainee progress through assessments, activities, and feedback.

* Integrate digital tools, audiovisual materials, and interactive techniques into teaching.

* Provide one-on-one mentorship to address language barriers and build confidence.

* Collaborate with other trainers to integrate English communication skills with employability training.

* Support trainees in interview preparation, workplace communication, and professional networking.

 

 

**Skills & Competencies:**

 

* Excellent communication skills and strong command of English.

* Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.

* Expertise in engaging training methodologies.

* Familiarity with digital learning tools and interactive teaching techniques.

* Empathy, patience, and adaptability to different learning paces.

* Strong project management and teamwork skills.

* Fluency in Gujarati and/or Hindi is advantageous.

* Passion for youth development and community engagement.
