Responsibilities:

 The Associate will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

Fellow Operations:

  • Be the liaison between CAN university partners, stakeholders, host organizations and the students applying for fellowship/internships to manage intake of fellows through the fellow selection process and their placement with the host institution
  • Support and collaborate with relevant J-PAL stakeholders to prepare offer letters, consultant contracts, and any other official documents related to placement and onboarding of selected candidates
  • Support with creation and dissemination of JDs for fellow recruitment through internal J-PAL staff and other operations
  • Schedule and maintain status of monthly check-in calls with the fellows and the partner organizations throughout the fellowship tenure
  • Support and archive fellow check-in status through tools and templates created such as fellow tracker, reports and other progress report templates
  • Support fellows with any troubleshooting around internal J-PAL processes 
  • Maintain fellow time booking on various projects and manage fellow payout
  • Support the creation and execution of fellow orientation and development process through managing tracker of their learning journey
  • Support interaction of mentors and fellows by organizing regular check-ins
    HR Management:
  • Ensure all the recruitment and onboarding for CAN fellowship happens as per J-PAL internal policies and code of conduct
  • Maintain a reporting tracker to keep a regular track of the candidate’s onboarding status throughout the recruitment process
  • Prepare formal documentation of all important HR related processes to the CAN fellowship program 
  • Support the IDCA Program Team in rolling out JDs for any CAN specific roles within both internal J-PAL network and external job market
  • Coordinate and provide all HR process-related support in any other staff recruitment for the CAN Program
  • Maintain regular communication with CAN Project Director and Project Manager for project updates and hiring process
  • Act as the liaison between IDCA Program Team and internal J-PAL teams of Human Resources, Admin, and Finance.
    Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream, preferably in human resources/MBA
  • Preferred minimum 1-2 years of work experience in HR, communications, or talent acquisition
  • Exceptional communication skills, including writing, conversing and presenting in English
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to effectively managing employee relations and resolving conflicts
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills such as maintaining trackers, coordinating tasks, and prioritization of competing priorities
